The Sorpasso Wind Bib Tight offers a combination of insulation, wind protection, and comfort that just can't be beat.

Like the standard Sorpasso, Castelli uses a combination of Thermoflex and Thermoflex Core Due fabrics, materials designed to balance insulation and moisture transfer. An additional layer of windproof fabric on the front panels eliminates the bite when temperatures plummet. The result is a tight which keeps you comfortable in cold weather, but won't leave you overheated as you ride.

To further comfort, Castelli has added their Progetto X2™ chamois, a pad featuring a multi-layer design for cushioning, support and comfort against the skin. Giro3 grippers at the ankles provide a weatherproof seal against shoe covers, and YKK® camlocking zippers make on/off a breeze.

The Sorpasso Wind Bib Tight is available in Black.

Note: Castelli tops and bottoms are designed with a performance cut that often runs smaller than that of other manufacturers. Consider sizing-up one size to ensure a comfortable fit — e.g., if you normally wear a Medium, select a Large in Castelli. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Good winter tights for cold and dry
by Anonymous

These are good winter tights for the right conditions. The well positioned panels keep the wind and chill off your quads when the temperature gets down toward freezing. The added materials are a little stiffer so the fit is not quite as tight as other models.

Castelli Quality is Slipping
by Anonymous

These were purchased for cold weather rides

Quick Notes

- Castelli product generally runs a bit small, you will likely have to go one size up. With going one size up with this product it is still very tight. I never want cycling clothing loose, but these were so tight they take a while to put on, and feel painted on when wearing them.

- I typically wear M in cycling apparel, but have to move up to L in Castelli. These bibs are the tightest L I have ever worn.

- This product is warm, performance was as stated

- The chamois started to rip in the seams after using it 3-4 times (currently being warrantied by Castelli)

- Castelli Warranty department has been great to work with, they are always quick to respond, and always have taken care of me. Unfortunately I have had to contact the warranty department on more than one occasion due to poor quality.

Castilli can do much better
by Anonymous
Aldie Virginia

The shoulder straps on these tights are flimsy at best and have zero reinforcement which is odd considering the quality reputation Castilli has. Riding in temps below 40 degrees is not a great experience for having the chamois built in sounds great but at low temps and with no other layering results in frozen chestnuts. Bottom line Castelli can do better.

Warm
by Nart Togan
Amman Jordan

I rode training on a local hill in a breezy 45 degrees and it kept me warm, I like to stop afterwards and get a coffee, I stayed warm where my regular Sorpasso in this case I would feel the chills, I haven't done long ride with it, I usually wear Size S from Castelli but the medium is adequate with this one, follow the Size Chart

Great cold weather tight
by Anonymous
Daily Commuter

Simple awesome, best cold weather tight I've ever used. The red fleece fabric feels dry even when it's wet, super warm down to 15 degrees. Don't know how they do it but Castelli makes the best stuff period.

Essential item for winter riding
by NMRider

These bibs fit great and work amazingly well in stopping the wind but also breathing so they never feel too warm. If you ride below 50F these are a must have. Good down to 32F at least.

Great tights, fit and quality are top shelf.
by FeltF2rider
Cycling Enthusiast

As with all Castelli gear, it's just great quality and fits me spot on perfect. I bought these in mid September and it's still quite warm out for these but I am impressed. These are going to be perfect for NW winters. Never had an issue with my crotch getting cold like stated in some previous reviews so I'm not going to count that as a con. These are pricey but the truth is the fit and comfort make it worth it to me. I have been on the miserable cold ride and not feeling like that on a ride is worth a lot to me. Bring on the cold I'm ready.

Great winter tights
by NWRider

Oregon

These are now my go to tights for mid-winter rides. I live in Oregon and have had these about a month since early December. In that time I've worn these in temps ranging from 25F to 48F, light & heavy rain and sun, wind for rides up to 4 hours. Overall these are great! They're light yet well insulated in the right places. You won't stay dry long in the rain but they will still keep you warm. If it's sunny out you'll start to over heat much above 46F and over that I opt for my sorpasso knickers. True to castelli, order a size up.

I'm 5' 11 and weight 178 and design is quite snug in the large. Once in the tights they feel great and I have been very comfortable down to some pretty brisk temperatures.

No wind protection for your junk

These are good at blocking windchill on your legs; however, there is no wind stop material around your man parts. Burrr.

Good cold weather tights

Similar construction as the sorpasso tights but with wind blocking material over the knees. Pretty much the same fit as the Soprasso. The fronts of the legs are warmer with these tights and are good down to about 2-3 oC for me where the Sorpasso was getting a bit cold at 5-6 oC. The sides and bum of the wind Soropasso is the same as the Sorpasso so that part gets a bit chilly when riding at near oC conditions.

I use them for the 3 oc to 7 oC range and use the Sorpasso's from 6 oC to about 12 oC.

The fronts of the Wind Sorpasso does not breath as well as the Sorpasso so you might find moisture build-up on the front of your legs.

Excellent fallwinter tight option
by timheuer

I have these and the Nanoflex tights as well. I actually prefer these as the Windstopper addition to the thigh areas make this a bit warmer of a wear and white the Nanoflex perhaps has better water resistance, I find myself wearing these more.

The fleece upper area is a nice addition as well while wearing these keeping some more areas insulated. I definitely recommend these for fallwinter riding.

Good winter tights

These are good tights I use in Wisconsin for fat biking. They are warm enough for probably 10 degrees and down from that I put my snowboard pants on top. The windproof is great, the multi thickness insulation is good except on the butt it could be thicker. The new pad on these is awesome, the best Ive had on any shorttight. The bib straps could be a little thicker and actually were better on my old Castelli tights. That's the only thing better on the old ones though. These are nice.

Comfortable and warm

I have used Castelli for some time and have always been please with fabrication, durability and the fit. The fit of the Sorpasso is similar to all other Castelli tights. I have only worn them once, but was pleased, they are very comfortable and block the wind well. I am sure that they would be quiet comfortable for me in near freezing temps (I am rather cold blooded). The chamois is quite comfortable as well. I got them on sale so the value for me was very good. The only thing I don't care for is the prominent branding. But for function and fit, I most certainly recommend them.

Last Castelli
by Miel High Biker

-update on previous review.

Still pretty warm down to 2C. Wind stopping is very good on legs. Comfortable. Black with Red-ish panel section above quads could use more insulation when it is really cold. Not sure how to supplement except to wear poly underneath which defeats the purpose.

The Castelli logo on the right calf fell off after 12 rides, leaving an ugly gray glue ring. Garment was only washed separately and never run through the dryer. Castelli is going to have to do better than this to get my business back. There are too many other brands out there to try.
