This review is for the redesigned PRO version of this tire.
This is an amazing all-round tire with very even transition of knobs throughout the tire. It actually can hook up quite decent up front as the knobs go pretty far to the outside of the tire. Mounted on 28mm internal rim these 45mm blew up to 46.5mm WAM.
Ran this at unbound XL with zero flats and have continued to punish them on all kinds of terrain with no issues so far. Very satisfied with road feel and capabilities on chunky stuff. I really don't see why you would run the RS version now that these are so dang fast and likely better tread protection.
They roll as you expect for the tread pattern. Hook up well in loose, chunky, rocky, and soft stuff. Did great on a long single track climb with mostly decomposed granite. No washing out front or rear. A little noisy and slower rolling on tarmac than other tires with shallower or closer set lugs. Definitely overkill if 30% or more of your riding is pavement or if the gravel is predictable. Both tires weight out the about 620g but it is a pretty robust tire for the intended use.

If you read my review of the 1st Gen, G-One RS 40's then everything I said there applies here, but the 45 just adds more comfort, more capability on rougher terrain and even more smooth suppleness overall. The 45's weigh 552 and 550 and settled in at 46.1mm F and 46.4mm R inflated to 29 PSI F and 31 PSI R after a ride on Enve 4.5 SES, 25mm internal rims. Although they are heavy, you don't feel the weight so don't be put off by that, the savings in rolling resistance will far outweigh any weight penalty. The setup was a breeze and the tires are holding air well. These tires roll fast, corner well and have excellent grip. The 45's just amplify what the 40's offer, but will undoubtedly be faster than the 40 on rough surfaces.
