I can't even remember how I found it. Presta worked, but it was always annoying to use. Pressing in hard, and hopefully the pump head would catch the thing. Sometimes it doesn't engage and the air doesn't go in. So it was complain-less for maybe 70% of the time? But, it was better than the only other option.
Then I found this. Just click in and pump. I was skeptical, but it was true! So much easier than presta.
The adapter is fully plastic. I also got a metal version from the official website, but the plastic one works fine.
The metal one went to my home floor pump, and the plastic one is for my bike pump.
I'm a Schwalbe fan - just admitting that bias up front - they mount & seal easier than any other tubeless I've used. Been running their tires for a few years on my gravel bike. I ran this in a 50 on the front and an Overland Schwalbe in the rear in a 45 (max for my bike and had a new one to use) for Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder this year in addition to several other chunky and technical training rides and I LOVE THEM. Notable excellent cornering control, fast rolling. Recommended to me by a pro rider; no regrets for taking the guidance and upgrading. Will absolutely consider purchasing again.
I have been using this for several weeks now with tubeless-ready tires and sealant (Orange Endurance). I store my bike with valve stems resting between 4 and 7 o'clock so sealant drains out of the stems. I have not had any clogging issues to-date with the Clik cores. I like how easy it is to attach and detach the adapter when airing up my tires. I carry an extra adapter in my seat bag while I ride. I recently bought a medium-sized Fanttik battery operated digital air pump at Costco for my workbench and car travel. With the Clik adapter on the end of the Fanttik's air hose, I can top off both my tires in a half minute or so. I love it!
I've always wanted to do ride my MTB more other than just singletrack, but there has never been a tire fast enough for me to have much fun on lighter terrain. This tire changes that completely! I got my MTB up to 41.77 MPH already and that wasn't the limit at all.
It's been amazing to ride the MTB on the gravel paths and compare times with the gravel bike because the MTB bike is barely slower now with these tires.
They are being run with TPU tubes, and after 300 miles there hasn't been a single issue. The rear tire still looks new!
I'll be riding the MTB more now, and also much more willing to explore some of the longer routes in this area that a just a bit too harsh on a fixed gravel bike. My range for adventure will be extended in a palpable way from these tires. I only own a pair, and I'll have to get another as a spare just in case as these are going to be a staple for certain types of riding.
