These tires have been my go to tires for years now. Super reliable during training and races. Can't go wrong with these tires.
The Conti GP is my everyday tire. Thousands of miles. Rarely a flat. And it rolls meaning its fast. Love these tires.
I've been on Continentals Grand Prix since 1995. There is no better tire for the combination of performance and puncture resistance. Love them. Racing or training, these get well over a season of miles on them (5000).
Great all around tire. Can use it on gravel and race on it. However, it's not the best gravel tire or the best race tire. 25c tire measure out to be almost 27mm on 17mm inner rim width wheel. Run with latex tubes to get lower CRR.
No complaints about this tire. It's my favorite road cycling tires. I use them on Crits, road race and circuit races.
I have tried all the other top brands and they all leave me disappointed, then I wonder why I even tried
them , then I go back to the GP 4000
I have been riding the Grand Prix tire since the mid 90s. There have been several iterations along the way with the current execution being the best yet. I believe the packaging for these makes mention of the fact that Continental is constantly working to improve the rubber compound to decrease rolling resistance while increasing traction and puncture prevention. Normally I would consider a statement like this nothing more than marketing whether I like the product or not, but in this case, I can't help but think this statement is simply true. Living in the Pacific Northwest and preferring to ride in the hills, I find myself on wet, out of the saddle climbs constantly and these tires provide excellent traction even after many miles of use.
Still after all those years it's my favorite tire. Amazing flat resistance. Lightweight. Great grip on dry and wet conditions. And love the reflective stripliner on the sidewall for better visibility at night (it's the law in certain countries).
I ride a lot of hills and mountains..and I rarely have any punctures..I literally wear out the tire.
I have used Continental 4000 S tires for years and have had no problems with flats. The tires also appear to be slightly faster than the Michelin Pros I used previously.
Great tire, excellent tire on sale
I've used conti Grand Prix's on my road bike for three years. I ride 6-8,000 milesyr. I generally get 4-5,000 miles out of a set without swapping front to back baring a major catastrophe. These tires seem to stick to the road as well as any and have always been a comfortable ride to me. I've had some flats due to road hazards, but never because of a tire failure.
When I got my new high quality plush carbon road bike in 2010, it came with Michelin Pro4 tires. I didn't have a particular reason to change even though I'd had Contis on my old steely. Then last this last year I had some issues with quality control on two different Pro4 Endurance tires (probably tire-age-related but had a potentially scary tread separation on a rear tire) so decide to try the Continental 4000 S II. I had hoped to try the 28c and did my best to estimate if they would fit but NOT quite (1 mm too tall and they looked a little (a lot) fat on the Zipp 303 rims).
I did not expect the instant increase in my average speed during my first 300 miles with the new 25c 4000s. I spent a lot of time confirming the circumference and re-riding favorite routes but the speed difference, even for a slow old guy like me, was immediate. Adding maybe 12 to 34 mph (nearly all flat 30 to 50 mile Sunday rides) probably isn't much to most folks but it was a welcome return of some free speed that the last few years has swiped. I just hope they are as puncture resistant as new Pro4s, I did have one center-tread glass caused flat so far (a rare event with the Michelins).
I've been using this tire for about 5 years...supple..enough to easily change out a flat on the road...my road flats decreased to about 1per year..and i ride 6000 miles per year..
Ive been using this tire for many years. It usually lasts about 12 a season (3000 miles) in front and is lightweight with a good grip on the road.
I ride long distance and large amount of climbing.
I've used Continental tires for over 20 years, from their touring tires to the Gatorskin and now the Grand Prix 4000S II, which I've used for about 5 years. I rarely get flats and or slices in my tires from debri. It would take a lot to convince me to use any other brand of tire.
Have been riding conti 4000 s for about six years now. Great handling and performance. Very durable and supple. I have wide rims on my road bike and changing tires can be a challange. These are the easiest ones I have found.
The Continental GP 4000 S II 700C Road Tire is the best road tire available. It has superb grip, rolling resistance, and puncture resistance. It is also very light. It does everything great and does not sacrifice one attribute (grip, weight, etc.) for another.
I really like the quality of these tires, tried them on the recommendation of a fellow cyclist. I have over 3700 miles and no flats.
