Step up.

The SH-RP3 Road Shoe from Shimano shows that comfort and high-performance don't just happen at the top end. This shoe has a fiberglass reinforced nylon sole that's rated at medium stiffness for a blend of performance and comfort, and it's compatible with either SPD or SPD-SL style cleats so you can ride them with virtually any clipless pedal system. Synthetic leather uppers are lightweight and durable for seasons of use, and the fit uses a secure ratcheting buckle plus a pressure-relieving offset strap at the midfoot. Air intake vents around the shoe help keep you cool while on the road, and the SH-RP3 is shaped on Shimano's Dynalast form to optimize your pedal stroke and reduce fatigue.

Claimed weight is 527 g (size 40). Also available in wide, high-volume sizes.

I'm more pleased with my Shimano shoes over my new Sidi's
by assortedpixels

I had an earlier version of this shoe (the R107) and decided to finally replace them with what I thought was a good deal on a pair of Sidi's. At similar price points the Shimano's are much more comfortable and lighter. I also find the strap mechanism much easier to use with the Shimano shoes. The shoes also offer much more flexibility with clip mounting as the screw position within the shoe itself can be moved. On colder rides I would put some masking tape on the soles to block off the vents. The same vents will also let in a lot of water during really wet rides.

Great for wide feet
by TriGuy

I have moderately wide feet and these were the best fitting and comfortable ones out of the ones I tried on. No foot pain at all, even after strenuous riding. One of the few bike items I own that I don't desire to upgrade unless I want different colors

These shoes are very well deigned and and are very cool (they have ventilated soles). They clip beautifully and are quite comfortable.
