The power is in the pedals.
PowerTap is a household name, that is, if your household is one that's serious about effective training and massive performance on the bike. Measuring total power output to the wheel as PowerTap's ubiquitous rear hubs do has allowed many racers to take their game to the next level, but now we can go further. The P1 pedals measure power right at the source, individually calculating wattage for the right and left legs 40 times per pedal stroke, so now not only do you know the amount of power you put out, but also, how it is that you're putting out those numbers. Being balanced and efficient in your pedal stroke is an often overlooked area in cyclists' training programs, yet it offers substantial gains as you learn how to make the most of your muscles and keep them from fighting against themselves and your bike.
Dual-band ANT+ / Bluetooth® Smart capabilities display this invaluable information on most power-meter compatible cycling computers on the market. The P1 pedals install just like normal pedals, using a hex wrench, with no special tools or torque wrenches involved. They're powered by user replaceable AAA batteries with a lifespan of up to 60 riding hours.
Claimed weight is 398 g. Measurements are within ±1.5% accuracy. Includes pedals, Power Tap 6-degree cleats, and mounting hardware.

Very Easy to Set Up!

The P1 Pedals are very easy to set up and works very well with my Edge 810! I was really surprised by how simple it was. I was doubting the readings but did the same ride with my Vector 2 pedals and got the same readings. So it tells me I have some work to do to increase my power. What do not like are the cleats! It is crazy that we cannot use regular Look cleats for these pedals.
