The whiz kid of activity trackers.

The vívosmart® 3 from Garmin is the precocious progeny of Garmin’s vívofit® 3 and vívosmart® HR+. This whiz kid activity tracker has a delicate profile - thinner and lighter than its relatively svelte forebearers. The display of the vívosmart® 3 is composed of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), a specialized technology that is comprised of organic malleable light-emitting material. Due to the lightweight and flexible nature of OLED, you’ll probably forget you’re wearing your vívosmart® 3 when you’re not using it and it’s much more durable than other activity trackers. Also, the special technology behind the display keeps it camouflaged when not in use so it easily blends in with any wardrobe or occasion.

On top of its broad range of activity tracking features, the vívosmart® 3 offers support in other areas of your life with its sleep monitoring feature and HRV (Heart Rate Variability) monitor that evaluates stress levels by analyzing recent HRV and HR data. The vívosmart® 3 provides stress level feedback with a score (1-100) and range (low/med/high). If you find you’re experiencing a moderate amount of stress, you can immediately work on reducing it by enabling vívosmart® 3’s relaxation tool, a breathing timer. The breathing timer helps you practice mindfulness by tuning out your surroundings and thoughts to focus on your breathing, thereby reducing stress.

Poor Fitness Tracker
by Capt FJ3

Garmin has missed in a big way. It does count steps fairly accurately, it does NOT count flights of stairs nor recognize walking up steep hills. It also is ridiculously inaccurate at detecting when I fall asleep. Perhaps its greatest drawback, is difficulty of use & navigating menus. The touchscreen is nearly useless. It makes me wonder what all those ridiculous insights, based on wildly inaccurate data are all about.

Nice gadget. It does everything that it advertised to do. The heart rate monitor is more accurate than my Garmin Forerunner. It is worth the $100. The sleep feature is interesting.

Weak bracelet

I bought this activity tracker for my 10 year old daughter. The tracker works fine, identifies different activities correctly and looks good on her small wrist. Battery life is acceptable for such a small device. The only flaw is the bracelet, it came apart after only four months of use. I contacted W. B. W. and I'm waiting for a resolution.

I'm a little disappointed in the watch compared to the Vivosmart HR. I love the comfort and thinness of the watch but navigating is annoying compared to the HR. But the comfort is much better for my skinny wrist. The large watches make me look like Buzz Lightyear !
