I've went through many brands of bar tape on my bikes, but after having tried this ENVE 3mm tape I won't try anything else.
This is probably the easiest tape I've wrapped. The tape stretches and contours to the bar, but if you need to redo a section it's easy.
The included finishing tape isn't your ordinary electrical or vinyl tape. It's a stretchy textured strip with adhesive. It makes the final product look and feel premium.
Finally, the overall feel and grippiness of the tape during rides is great. The 3mm thickness provides excellent damping.
Durability over time is still in the air as I had only installed it a couple months, but so far so good.
This tape is tacky and provides good cushioning, if that's what you are looking for then go for it. After a handful of rides, I don't think this bar tape is for me. I realized that I just don't like tacky tape.
All the other reviews are spot on, install is pain. There is some stretch to the tape, but it's hard to work with. The tape even started to degrade as I was making wrap adjustments. Maybe this tape would be better without a glue strip.
No more searching where I left that extra garage door opener and throwing it behind the flower pot as I leave the garage.
I mounted it with out the snap together holder which looked easy enough but just wrapped some tape around the barrel of unit and it fit snugly in the end of handlebar and placed a thin strip of tape around end for extra security.
Setup was easy even though my opener was not listed, just a few trial button pushes to find the correct number to connect.
I purchased these bars for my No. 1 bike and immediately bought another for my second/gravel bike. I like the longer reach and slight backsweep of the tops as well as the flattened tops. I also purchased these narrower than what I have used in the past and like that aspect as well. The only change I would make would be a deeper drop ... I know "compact" bend bars are popular but wish there was a bar with tops/reach like this one but just a bit more drop.
