Overall these are a pretty good mountain bike shoe. Comfortable for hours of wear, with wonderful stiffness for excellent power transfer and reduction of fatigue on grueling rides. Breathability is decent, but not stellar. Sole grip is solid. The one downside is that they run about a half-size larger than normal for Sidis.

This is my second pair of Lake Shoes. The first pair are several years old, still look new and are the most comfortable cycling shoes I have owned. I need truly wide shoes and Lake makes them. Most 'wides' on the market use a normal last and just increase the volume. I have wide feet, not fat feet! I bought this pair as they have BOAs vs. laces. Just a different look. These shoes after a few rides are extremely comfortable. The build quality is exquisite.

I really like the fit of these shoes. I did replace the OEM sock liner with a molded insole and that works much better with my 60 year-old feet. Other than that, a great fit. I think, however, the BOA flip-up tabs could be better replaced with simple pop-up dials like other brands. The lower BOA adjustment gets in the way of my toe caps this spring, so less off the foot ends up covered. Haven't ridden anything north of 80km here in the Northeast US this season. It's been a bit too brisk and windy and rainy to confidently get out on a nice day. Soon...

These would not stand a very cold winter but they are good enough for the pacific north west.
I also don't think they are waterproof enough but can keep you dry on a lighter rain.
Size is true to the number. I would not worry about going higher or lower than what you wear
