Description

Performance, Style, & Sustainability

The Lake Men's MX239 X-Wide Gravel is the latest version of their most popular gravel biking shoe for adventure seekers. This new evolution of the legendary MX238 is now updated to include an integrated tongue to the medial panel of the upper for a firmer foot hold, ensuring that power is maximized into forward momentum through improved stability.

The MX239 Gravel comes with a new fiberglass reinforced internal heel counter, creating a more stable heel hold, and has more spacing between the two BOA® dials to give greater zone adjustment to the forefoot area. It takes this proven off-road adventure cycling shoe to a whole new level of comfort, fit and performance, with modern styling as standard. Add to this the Mountain Race X real rubber sole, and you have a gravel biking shoe to take on any challenge.

Features:

  • MX Competition Last – Featuring a larger toe box and a tighter heel cup than the Comfort Plus Last and coming with slightly more overall volume than the Sport Last. It's an exceptionally secure cycling shoe, giving you that extra confidence on loose terrain where security is key when riding hard and racing. The shoe comes with enough room in the toe box to prevent binding when running up inclines or negotiating those tricky technical sections. The wider toe box gives your feet a more natural fit and platform.
  • The Lake Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole, alongside the Mountain Competition real rubber sole provides you with a super-stable off-road cycling shoe. With extended protection for the toe area, and the opportunity to fit lugs to the forefoot area of the sole, it provides all-important stability for your feet on all types of technical terrain, however loose.
  • Uppers are either a Clarino Microfiber (Stone/Black) or a Recycled Leather (Black/Gold) with Mesh and Helcor Abrasion resistant leather panels with Outlast heel lining.
  • BOA® Fit System Side mounted Li2 Push/Pull dial with releasable guides integrated into Lake's incredible fitting and comfortable uppers. The Li2 dial is the most advanced platform in cycling, offering a precise, micro-adjustable fit in both directions and designed to resist abrasion.

Feels amazing. Wide, but not too wide
by Harry

I have wide feet. Not too wide, but I felt squeezed by modern cycling shoes. Just for the record, I wear Altra for running shoes. For that reason, I've been looking for wide cycling shoes.

I won't name the brand, but there's a brand that offered very wide shoes. I tried them, but they were too wide. And they were also too cushy for comfort.

I like this specific model of Lake (I haven't tried the others), because while they offer wide fit, they aren't too wide. I felt very connected without being too squeezed.

Best Shoes Ever

I love my lake shoes. This is my second pair and it even fits better then last one. My shoes (First Pair) are many years old I bought the second to keep at my main residence. They fit like a glove 13 wide and comfortable. They are stiff on bottom and transfers the energy right to pedals. They are very expensive, but worth every dollar and they last forever

Fits great
by Anonymous

Accommodates my wide feet. Shape feels a little different than my road CX238-X, but I'm not sure if that's break in. The tongue feels stiffer and presses into my ankle a bit.
