Who knew that a [$] water bottle could make such a big difference? My husband calls me The Camel cuz I rarely drink on rides which is stupid but true. I hate drinking out of most water bottles, makes me feel like I'm trying to eek moisture out of a stone baby bottle and hydration packs develop that nasty taste no matter how vigilant you are about cleaning them. I decided to try this bottle because it's small enough to fit my 46.5cm frame, bigger bottles just don't have enough clearance, especially from the seat tube cage. The bottle is actually made by Specialized but rebranded by Twin Six and is part of their Purist line. The inside has been coated with silicone dioxide, which is inert and keeps odors, mold, and stains from binding to the BPA-free polyethylene. And if you hate scrubbing bottles as much as I do, you'll be happy to know that they recommend only washing with warm water and detergent (or your dishwasher top rack) so no scrubbing. Ever. But the best part? The cap is super watertight. After many rides I've never had liquid dribbling onto me as I upend while guzzling and the nozzle opening is wider than most bottles so you get strong, quick flow without feeling like you're trying to suck a rock through a straw. You can also feel subtly subversive with the little skull decal. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 because the outside of the bottle is showing light scratches from my carbon bottle cage and it hasn't even been 6 months yet. The 22 oz size may be too little liquid if you ride in hot/dry climates which is why I have two bottle cages.
My favorite water bottle. Perfect
Purist bottles work good
