I'm currently breaking-in my first pair of Sidi road shoes. I am very hard to please when it comes to shoes, and these "comfort fit" insoles are definitely worth the current $15 sale price. They are maybe a few mm thicker, a touch more sturdy, and have a more durable and comfortable feel under the balls of my feet - especially my big toe, where a lot of power is transferred into the pedal. I personally find the standard "blue" insole to be a bit flimsy and without any comfort, but adding these to my new shoes has made them much more comfortable on those 50+ mile rides. So, if you feel the way I do about the Sidi Genius shoe, try adding these insoles. It definitely has worked for me.
It's hard to get excited about insoles, so I won't try. It is nice, though, to have the ability to extend the life of your investment in higher end riding shoes with something this simple and important. Tossed the old and dropped in these light weight replacements. Didn't miss a beat. Perfect fit for the size of my shoe. Would highly recommend. After 4000 miles of road, your feet deserve at least a new insole. A lot of miles left in the well made Sidi shoes.
I wear Sidi Genius 6.6 Mega road shoes. I have one pair that is 12 years old, bought them in 2006. The other pair I bought a few months ago, they were New Old Stock. I bought these insoles for the older pair. They feel better than the stock insoles (which I really had no problem with, just replaced them because they were worn out). I don't understand the negative reviews I've seen on these insoles. They are fine and feel really good. These are priced well and are a great deal.
When I received the shoes, the holes in the insoles were punched from the bottom up, thus creating an unwelcome uneven effect. I bought the replacement insoles in essence to correct this error. Not sure why the original were faulty.
Sidi Comfort insoles are used on Specialized brand bike shoes for cool summer rides. This a common brand with a common application. I expected the insole vent holes to line up with the bike shoe vent holes and cover the length of the insole. They did not, so I had to add holes the correct the design flaw.
I would consider these as replacements for worn out original insoles but not much of an upgrade. They are very thin and as the other reviewer said, offer no arch support, aren't moldable at all, etc. Just be aware of what you are getting.
Not much to say here - these insoles feature a metatarsal reinforcement and anti microbial treatment (possibly some more heel support) vs. the stock insoles. Sidi insoles are kind of a joke and these should come stock on a [$] pair of shoes, but I digress.
Bottom line, if you need some metatarsal support get these, they are cheap and fit perfectly in the shoes. If you need tons of options for arch support, look elsewhere.
Replacements fit great and are performing nicely. Definitely an improvement to my worn out old ones and new life for some pretty worn Dominators
Standard liner in the Sidi Ergo 5
comfortable for a couple of rides but now insole is as thin as my old blue ones. now good for endurance rides
I am on my third pair of Sidi and cannot say enough about the shoe quality but this insert under whelmed me. For the price they really did not do anything that the old ones did but I guess the smell better.
Seems to be of higher quality than the original insoles, nice way to refresh shoes.
Sidi shoes last (almost) forever. Insoles do not. I refreshed my trusty Sidi Genius shoes with Comfort Fit Insoles and it changed my life.
They cool.
The 43 fits my shoe size 43.5
