These are my first MTB/Gravel pedals and I am very happy with them. I was expecting them to feel less powerful than my road pedals, but they do not. They are very easy to clip into and out of and feel very fast and smooth!
Before this, I only had experience with road pedals. My son has these pedals on his gravel race bike and recommended them to me. I was skeptical about the smaller platform, but have found that this has not caused any issues, either with power transfer or ease of use. I love the two-sided functionality for the on and off of gravel riding. The touches of the gravel-specific design are also nice visually.
Good pedals. I think they're the same as the M8100 XC, but Shimano is charging more because they're branded 'limited edition gravel'
