Have used many of these saddles. Great product.
Purchased this saddle during my bike fit at the store after trying 6 others. This saddle has cured my sore bottom and numbness. Well worth the money!
It makes a great commuting saddle, as it provides the right support with enough comfort to make you forget your on your bike, but not too much to cause numbness. I commute about 15 miles a day and this saddle has been great for me.
I like to get a workout on my way to and from work, so I was looking for something that is performance oriented but comfortable even without a pair of padded shorts. This is my third saddle in 3 weeks. First was the Selle SMP, the $XX version. Too much padding, a little too wide and just felt weird. Next was the Brooks Cambium 15 with cutout. Nice saddle if I was wearing padded shorts but killed my sit bones without a pad. Wanted to like it but not the right choice for my daily commute. Was looking for something for my Bianchi Volpe to replace the stock saddle after my first 700 miles of riding the bike. Wanted something I could ride 15-20 miles daily without needing padded shorts. After my first 50 miles or so I'm very pleased. Definitely recommend.
Bought the white saddle to go on my 2012 Trek Madone 4.5 road bike (it has a black, silver and white color scheme) and it is the best saddle for me after trying various Fizik models and other Selle Italia versions. I am 5'9, 160 lbs and this saddle though on the wide side fit comfortably for my sit bones. It is cushioned more than most saddles but still firm though I still ride with my padded cycling shorts. This is a well made seat with nice stitching and curves.
I had been eyeing this saddle for about a year. Needed a saddle with a larger cutout than my current Prologo Naga Pas that came stock with my road bike. I am 6'4 215lbs. Have used this for about a month now. I am still getting used to it and have already been pleased with the comfort afforded my private parts. Build quality is outstanding.
This saddle just works for me. I tried several other saddles when I got a new bike, but eventually came back to this saddle. I had one on my old bike and liked it. It does have a little flex to it which may be why it works so well for me.
I bought this saddle as an upgrade for my stock Giant. It performed well on the rides since I installed it. Those rides included a 75 miler. I know saddles work or not depending on how compatible their shape fits specific body types. This one works well for me.
I purchased this product to replace a Fizik Aliante R7. The Fizik, for me, was extremely firm and too narrow for me. After changing out to the Max Flite Gel Flow, I immediately noticed an increase in comfort and road dampening. When I did a little more aggressive riding and cranked up my output, the saddle felt really good without robbing me of any power output. While this saddle was a very good upgrade for me, unfortunately, it is still a bit narrow for my sit bones. As my quest continues, I will consider other Selle Italia products, or other products with this type of cushion and support. This product was of excellent quality and craftsmanship and I would highly recommend it, if it fits your body!!!
The saddle definitely has flex built into it so if you are seeking a stiff(er) saddle to suit your stiff(er) framewheelset then this is not it. If however if you desire or need a responsive and supportive saddle that covers a variety of terrain like gravel or a rough daily commute (think NYCity roads) then this is a great choice. I have had 3 over the years. Great quality and feel too.
It fits my sit bones. The Max doesn't have that much padding, a good thing. The shape is deceptive when setting the tilt, it will look very nose down while a flat plate on top of the saddle shows level. The saddle holds up for years without squeaks or broken rails.
With the proper fitting I feel a lot more comfortable in this saddle and I can ride longer without major issues.
Grant support .
I am quite happy with this product and suspect that after another month or so it will have fully broken in my seat!
I tried different saddles for several years hunting for one that was comfortable. The Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow finally satisfied my needs. It is comfortable even on century rides and multi-day tours. I have this saddle on four different bikes and I ride a total of 10K miles per year.
Had it for about 6 years. Looks better with age and wear. I love it!
I use the seat to trail ride. Seat is soft but not squishy. The frame has some bounce to help with bumps. The downward curl in the front add to the comfort. Used riding 250 miles of trails so far. Quality seems great and looks good on my bike.
Not as comfortable for me as the SLR. The nose is very firm and doesn't get any softer with use, gel or no gel. I bought the white model, and the outermost layer began peeling off the friction points on my very first ride. Hope the mfr fixed that problem with better material, but since I don't see any other negative reviews maybe I was just unlucky. Anyhow, this saddle has been relegated to my bad-weather fixie and I won't buy any more white saddles. Reasonable value if discounted.
I picked this saddle because I read a review saying an excellent choice firm but cushion. I have this saddle on my gravel bike. Yes, I would suggest this saddle. PC
Too much padding for me. That doesn't mean it won't work for you, obviously. Just something to be aware of
Installed on my Trek Domane, after stock saddle rail broke. Trek makes great bikes, but can't say too much for their saddles, this Selle Italia is comfortable right out of the box, no break in period needed. Highly recommended.
