The best fit ever
I'm 6'0 & 225 lbs. The 2xl fit perfectly. The construction and the materials are top notch & the chamois was very comfortable. The first time I wore them was for a metric century last week, and now I will most likely stick the PI's I've always used in the back of my closet. I absolutely recommend these bibs to anyone who wants a great product for a great price.
It is correct to say every body is different and bib-shorts are very personal item to purchase. These shorts are very good but I think for the greatest number of riders the legs are too shorts, the chamois is too small and uncomfortable. For riders who prefer race chamois go for it. At 5'9 170 lbs., large fits good. I ride approximately 500 miles a month.
As a serious cyclist of more than 30 years, averaging 5500 miles per year, I have had ample opportunities to try a myriad of bibs. I have mostly used Assos and Giordana, however, I can't justify paying $300 or more for a pair of shorts. I read some of the reviews on the Mckenzie and with a good sale price, decided to give them a try. Last week I did my first rides in them, one was 70 miles with 5700 ft of climbing and the other was 100 miles with 4000 ft of climbing. Let me just say that I was very satisfied. My Assos are now my number 2 short and my McKenzie's are my number one for long distance. I hope that the price remains reasonable and there are no short cuts in material.
I'm disappointed. I thought I would really enjoy these bibs based on most of the reviews. Yes, they are constructed really well from pretty good materials. The shortcomings are that the legs are too short (compared to my other bibs) and the chamois is too thin to eliminate the obvious moose knuckle.
I'll probably end up putting these on an auction site and list them as a roomier size small.
Nice bibs, I've been wearing them now for about 2 months. Super high quality lycra, multipanel for great fitting, if not tight fit, chamois is pretty nice as well.
I wear XL in Pearl Izumi, by all accounts per the fit chart, and other reviews, these shoud be a great fit for me at XL.(im 6'-198). They are supposed to be a compression fit, but these are a actually small for me. Thought they'd be ok, and stretch a bit with wear, but not the case. Should have ordered the XXL, even though my waist is 36 at most. These are a great deal on sale for sure.
bibs not comfortable chamois too small makes long rides miserable. wasted my money on these
I'm 6'4, 205. Compared to the LG Neo Power bib in XL, these bibs were too big and not as much compression. Will need to try the L. Quality looks excellent.
The pad is great (at least for me). The compression is good (may even a bit too much), but the material at 90 degree weather does not breathe well at all. And the chest straps are way too wide and come up too high. Combine that with the non-breathing material, I am not sure if I will keep these.
I would not mind paying a bit more for the same cut but with a better material.
It may be good for riding in cooler weather.
I typically wear a meduim, but could not even pull these up. The quality seems good so reording a larger size.
Great value and very comfortable - first ride was 80 miles, no issues. Durability is tbd, but they seem well made. Trick is the sizing. I followed the recommended sizing and ordered a L. Doable but not ideal. Returned for XL, they're perfect. I'm 6'1, 190 lbs. The best part of the order was dealing with Western's customer service, they're simply awesome and aim to please. Size exchange was quick and easy, no complaints, they've earned more of my business.
I typically ride 40 miles The chamois was fine, comfortable, but these shifted up way too high on the thighs, not enough compression, were not long enough
First time trying these and I was very impressed. Price is half of what the top brands costs and fit and finish is very good. Sizing is normal (no need to up size like Castelli). I am 152 pounds and 5'8 and size large fit perfect. They are not as nice as the high end Assos or Giordana but pretty close and well worth the money. Chamois is very good quality and quite comfortable as are the wide straps. The only strange thing is they do not make a matching jersey so no matched kit here.
I've worn these on 2 short rides so far and my initial impression is positive. Size XL fits my 6' 190 lbs frame well, the padding is comfortable, and I like that the hems aren't made of the rubbery stuff that many similar products have. So far, so good.
I wear Castelli small but I needed Pro corsa medium for a practical leg length. The compression on the legs is great for any ride. I'll commute and train with these bibs for sure. The chamois is well padded. I was a bit skeptic since I have had trouble with Capo but I really like Assos and their chamois' are made from the same company that makes the pro corsa. So far, great comfort. Would I recommend these to a friend? No. Because I want to be faster! ,P
I picked these up a couple months ago and just now got around to wearing them as we emerge from winter.
My training bike doesn't have the best saddle in the world and 5 minutes into the ride I caught myself asking the question, Why is my backside so comfortable? These shorts!
Today was just a quick one hour training ride, but I am looking forward to some longer days in the saddle to see how the McKenzie Bib holds up, I have no reason to believe it won't be a great ride.
I've worn these bibs on a few 80 mile rides and love them. I've had issues with other bib's chamois on longer rides however not with these - they have a great race fit without compromising in comfort. The compression fit makes for a shorter length however I don't mind more leg exposure. I would totally suggest a pair, or two.
I've been riding these for the last month and they've become my go-to bibs. They're comfortable on long rides and the compression style makes for a great race day fit. Often bibs are either comfortable or race quality - these are both. Also, I really like the sleek look - not too flashy but stylish none-the-less.
I just recently picked these up as they look great and I wanted to try something different than the normal scorpion branded bibs I usually rock. First off, I was impressed with the comfort of the chamois. It is very plush with out feeling too bulky. Also, I really like the compression bands at the bottom of the legs. They really keep them in place and my tan will be tight this summer. As far as the sizing, I am 6 feet tall and about 175 and the large size felt good.
Overall I feel these are a great product and I would recommend.
I have used Sugoi RS shorts for the past five years. Unfortunately they changed the design of the short recently and they no longer are of the same quality they used to be. Therefore, I gave this Pro Corsa bib a try. I have worn my first pair for over 200 miles already and I am extremely pleased with the overall comfort and quality of the item. I am convinced that this bib will become my new go to riding short.
