Power meter works well. As a comparison, I have a Watteam PowerBeat on my other bike. Nice not to need to charge as often, or to spend the time to calibrate the meter. The Pioneer wakes up quickly, and the Garmin recognizes the meter over ANT within a few seconds, as expected.
Appreciate that the power meter comes configured correctly out of the box. For those needing to use the power meter in other ways, such as splitting it across two bikes, or updating firmware in the months to come, you'll need the Pioneer head unit, or send it in to be reconfigured.
The Powerbeat power meter sits on the edge of the crank arms, so I was not prepared for clearance issues on my Emonda 2018 frame. I had to add a 1mm spacer to ensure clearance under stress. Make sure to check Pioneer's web site for frame compatibility. Most frame sets should work. Pioneer support indicated the supplied magnets are ONLY for use when paired with the Pioneer head unit on this model power meter for greater display accuracy with proprietary features. They indicated the magnets are not helpful for cadence accuracy for other head units.
