I have two conventional calipers that are okay, but not all that easy to read. This caliper leaves no doubt about the reading. For me, seeing a readout is easier than reading the marks on a conventional caliper, and I don't worry about making a mistake in my reading, which is all too likely to happen. Not cheap, I know, but worth it to me to be sure of my reading.
Finally splurged.. and it was worth it..
I use the caliper mostly for measuring bicycle parts (seat post diameter, etc). It is very easy to use and appears to be well built.
