Secure....choice of three different floats and they are balanced as such that entry is easy.
These are solid pedals, even without being the lightest ones. The platform is good. I had an old pair that had a slit in the platform that used to chew up the center rubber piece on the cleats. This avoid that and is very stable. Easy to change out the blades, too. I suggest the 12s. 16 is just way too tight.
I've used these pedals for about three years (15k miles). They are light and they work well - secure, yet easy to dismount (using the 12 Nm blade), and after a while, mount. Initially, they did not rotate freely and it was tough to get them rotated into a good mounting position. After a couple of thousand miles, the bearings freed up and they rotated into a good position to mount on their own. The cleats with rubber grips make walking a bit safer. I am still using them, but I will note two durability issues (1) during a ride, one of the carbon blades popped out and I did not notice when it happened, so it was gone, had to ride home with just the toe engaged in the pedal, not the heel, retailer sent a replacement blade, and (2) on the left pedal, the metal plate is coming off because I often transport the bike in the back of my car leaning on the left pedal, still works, but not sure for how long, looking to replace before a week-long trip.
