A little heavier than I expected, but this is a serious light. For commuting, I can't imagine that I would need anything better, My biggest concern is not blinding the on coming traffic.
Have used this over 2 years and no problems - until this winter, after setting unused, batteries will not accept charge. Reading on the Lezyne website, they recommend not allowing the Li ion batteries to discharge completely - but if the light is off and stored, the batteries will discharge. Therefore - be aware and charge the light periodically for the period of time when not being used regularly. I am checking to see if Lezyne will sell a replacement battery pack.
Excellent light and brightness. The difficulty setting the charging plug in place is workable once you figure it out - I remain careful to not press excessively hard - there are time it just takes awhile to plug in to recharge. The rubber mount for bars works fine - just tighten enough.
I was hoping to revise my previous review but unfortunately that's not possible. I read many reviews before buying this light and at least a few people mentioned breaking the port on the inside of the light. I took a chance anyway thinking maybe these people were careless but of course the same thing happened to me, believe me I was as careful with it as could be reasonably expected. This is truly one of the most basic areas to consider when designing a light, I've only owned a few other brands but I can all but guarantee the overwhelmingly vast majority of brands (inexpensive included) have not overlooked this moronically simple aspect of their products. This a genuinely careless company, I'm quite sure a small child could have done a better job securing a charging port to a light.
The beam is very wide but I personally like seeing as much as possible. I typically use the 600 lumen setting which can be a little dim for going downhill at high speeds but for the most part it's decent, especially for the battery life that it provides. The higher settings are phenomenal, I just wish you could customize race mode to switch back and forth from 600 to 1500 lumens.
A must for night ride. Seriously designed and quality.
