The new Giro Synthe helmet replaced my 2011 Giro Enos helmet. The Synthe is great looking, fits perfect, and is very light. I have nothing negative to say about this helmet - love it!
I ordered this helmet due to all the hype of it being as good as an aero helmet without the dork look. As it turns out, I barely notice I have this thing on. This helmet is lightweight and fits extremely well. The gap it creates between your head and the foam portion of the helmet really keeps your head cool and comfortable (even in 40F weather). This helmet is pricey, but IMHO it is worth every penny.
I have been using Giro helmets for 10 yrs. My concerns are usually quietness and weight. This helmet has it all and as a plus, is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn.
Light weight, comfortable, with some aero benefits (according to some tests). On 40 descents it seems to generate a little less turbulence than my other helmets but I have no real data to prove that. I also like how easy it is to adjust the fit to accommodate a thermal winter cap or not. I have the two previous generation Giro top model helmets and the Synthe has become my favorite.
I have owned every generation Giro helmets since the Atmos, and the Synthe is by far the best of all. Not too large, not too small, yet perfect in every way, from the one hand micro-adjuster, the excellent ventilation, the great fit, to the new sunglasses docking port they added with this great model. They also have a new X-static to keep it fresh, and as I understand it, copper element in the straps to keep them also odor free. This is an excellent helmet for an excellent price. Highly recommend!
