obviously tells you when cars are approaching so you can move over, but especially helpful on the down hill so you can take curves wide when the coast is clear.
I use the Garmin Varia RTL515 on all my road bikes so I know when traffic is approaching from behind. It has made cycling safer, not only for me, but for the entire group.
