Sorry I wanted to like these shoes but there were awful. I don't like writing bad reviews but I wore these for 1.5 hours and could wait to take them off. They dug into my ankles and the soles really hurt, I could barely go down one of my favorite trails. I have owned dozens of Mtb shoes and unfortunately first I ever had to return. FYI I have been riding clipless for 25 years both dirt and road.
Amazing shoes! Love the boa, great color ways and super comfortable hiking and cycling.
Very pleased with the quality and fit of this shoe. It's a MTB shoe that doubles as a road shoe I- multi use best of both worlds. Fit is screwy - I wear size 45 European typically and the size that fits correctly is size 43. Just odd but a great shoe for narrow feet.
This is a pretty decent and comfortable cycling shoe. I use it for road/gravel riding. I have a narrow foot and these fit well. Probably not for people with wide feet. However do not wet these shoes. The inside lining by the toes will warp and become hard like a rock. Therefore the shoe will be uncomfortable to wear. It happened to my first pair however I love the shoes and bought a second pair.
Very happy with how these feel - my first shoes with Boa laces! Stiff soles and comfortable upper. Shoes seem to run a size larger than expected so had to exchange for a smaller size - super easy! Thanks for the great service!
Great fit but definitely a bit on the narrow side. Comfortable on and off the bike, stiff enough while pedaling with just enough flex off the bike so walking isn't too awkward. As others have mentioned, the velcro toe strap is pretty useless as far as adjusting fit but the Boa lacing system works great so it's not too big of a deal. Overall, a great shoe for the money.
Overall, I love these shoes, but the insole thickness in insufficient for my feet. The collar of the shoes bumped up against the bottom of my ankle bones (malleoli) until I added a small 3/4 insole to lift my ankles a few millimeters. Now they're great!
The first Fizik shoe for me and seems to have the quality needed to withstand the conditions at a lower cost than what I usually buy. The fit is good with the only issue has been the thin instep tongue causing some chafing. Wearing thicker socks solved the issue. I would recommend these for riding.
A big upgrade for me. Wanted a non-heavy MTB shoe, loved the BOA dials. Fit is great, no pinch spots. Put it through the paces in mud and gravel. Even slid out one time and really didnt scuff. zero guilt about this buying this one.
I did not do enough research before purchasing this shoe as it is way too narrow for my wide feet causing pain during rides. The shoe itself is decent as the Boa system works as advertised and the overall construction of the shoe is great. Cleats have a tendency to become loose over time so make sure to pay attention to them to avoid having issues when clipping out.
Use these on a road bike with SPD pedals. The light-weight design and good ventilation make these a great road shoe for those who prefer shoes they can walk in. The boa provides and easy custom fit and the carbon reinforced sole offers excellent power transfer. A great shoe at a great price.
I flip between this shoe and my Bontrager road shoes when riding. Usually using these shoes when I have to walk inside since the cleats are recessed.
The shoes are very comfortable and fit quite well. I have used them on 50 mile road rides, long gravel rides.
For the price, these shoes deliver a lot. The Boa system and velcro strap make fit and adjusting easy, and the deep tread is great for muddy situations. My only criticism is that the shoe comes noticeably loose on longer rides and does require a bit of adjusting on the bike. Still, a great value gravel option.
Not much for me to like here.
- Shoe is narrow. (I have a normal width foot.) Not very breathable. Sole too sticky - doesn't allow me to use float on pedals. Sole grips too long, so harder to clip in. (I use Candy pedals.) With only one Boa, binds at top of foot. I regret not spending the money to buy another pair of Sidi's. Live and learn.
I have the green. If I had a do over, I would get the black. I wear a 10.5 shoe and my foot is rather narrow. The 44 fits me well, however, there seem to be a pressure point on the bottom of my big toe - not present in any of my other shoes. Boa system works well. I hope it stands the test of time.
Overall: Great, comfy. Love them.
One down side: Water doesn't drain well when riding thru stream crossings.
Fit: Runs a little longer/narrower from Bontrager shoes
Got these shoes for Zwifting. Easy on and off, plus they are easy to walk in safely without slipping. The close snugly but the Boa closures are adjustable.
Shoes are true to size. Comfortable fit for a person with wider feet. Good grip on gravel surfaces.
The shoes fit very well as the boa system snugs the shoe nicely. I like that I can adjust the fit quickly during a ride.
Reviewers mention that they slip off the pedal when clipping in if the pedal isnt hit just right. I experience that too. I guess thats the penalty for a stiff shoe. However the power transfer is excellent.
Fit is true to size.
Shoes fit well, look nice, decent price, but extremely uncomfortable for me. I started getting hot spots on my feet even during short rides(1 hour) when wearing them. I am going to replace the insoles and see if that helps.
