The pants are water-resistant, and that's a plus in Oregon. I'm a large man, but even choosing the XXL size pants required some getting used to. You really have to hike the pants up to avoid catching on the saddle, and they slide back down if you stand to pedal. After a few weeks, I still haven't figured out how to snug down the ends of the legs, as the velcro runs up and down rather than side to side. I'll wear them until they give out, of course, as that's part of the risk of buying pants online rather than in person. I wouldn't buy these pants again, though they may be all right for a smaller, svelter rider.
These pants are great. I ride year round in New England in all types of weather. I've now worn them in torrential downpours & wet snow storms & my lower half stays completely dry. I like the velcroed bottoms. They're designed to tighten up & narrow the sleeve bottom so that the pant bottoms don't interfere with the pedals or drivetrain. They are easy to don or doff without having to take you shoes off. They are comfortable & do not hinder my pedaling motion.
Got these for cycle touring when you just gotta ride in the rain. Haven't used them yet but seem nice. I'm 6' & 156 lbs - ordered medium and they fit good. Can't speak about water repellency or breathability but there is a membrane coating on the inside.
The waterproof trouser is very versatile. In addition to biking, it can be used at outside sporting/stadium events or wherever one may want to keep dry in a rain/snow environment.
