Purchased this EA90SL wheelset to replace an 8 yr old super reliable Easton EA90XC wheelset, which is no longer available. With multiple bikes, the option to quickly switch between QR and 12mm or 15mm thru axles was a must, and something that the Mavic wheelset I was also considering did not offer. I was a little disappointed that, unlike my XC wheelset, the SL's spoke holes do intrude into the air chamber, that is, you must use airtight rim tape for tubeless tire usage. But at least the rimtape was already installed and the wheels hold air just as well as my old XC's. I use these wheels with 28mm tubeless tires for fast Saturday morning road-only club rides, centuries, and lightly loaded touring trips. So far, they've proven to be just as reliable as my old XC's, which are now mounted with 35mm gravel tires for more rugged terrains. In summation, I can recommend the wheelset as a strong, versatile choice.
Light. Fast. Strong. Good price. Look cool. Note they do come with all appropriate adapters for thru-axels.
Carbon wheels are overrated. These are strong, light, fast, and aero.
Ive always been fond of Easton wheels. This is my third set but by far my favorite! Light, easy rolling and flat mount compatible. It would be hard to beat these wheels! Add in the fact theyre tubeless and you shouldnt hesitate to purchase these.
