These arm warmers are great for riding with nothing else on my arms down to about 60 degrees, and they're also just right for wearing underneath a wind breaker when it gets a little colder. Very breathable. I have worn them up to 70 degrees in low humidity and was comfortable the whole ride. Highly recommend.
I recently used this arm skin on a 52 mile bike ride on a hot humid day. It fits well but too warm in a hot humid days in Texas. I guess this is best when I used it as an arm warmer during winter and spring time road biking when the weather is cooler.
My old arm wamers have seen their better days. I bought some of these as they were on sale. Unaware that they are not lycra. Pleasantly surprised that they work very well. They fit nice and snug, won't slide down, and they have no seams. If you decide to pull them off on a ride, they will roll up nice and complact and fit in your jersey pocket. I forgot to wash these and used my old lycra warmers and could notice the difference. The DeFeet Armskins are warmer. The only bad thing I could think of is they don't look like arm warmers, more like the sleeves of a long sleeve thermo T shirt. But who cares?
The coldest it gets around here at ride time is 40 degrees and these armskins, along with a good vest, knee warmers, and gloves, cut through the chill just fine. I can keep the ArmSkins on until the temps warm up all the way up to the mid-60's before it's time to shed. Had previous pair a full 3 seasons before they lost their shape. I've got long skinny cyclist arms and the LXL is right size.
I never wore armskins before but broke down after I did some homework on how practical these are for extending the riding season in to the colder weather months. These fit snugly but are not restrictive in any way. I recently used them on a day long tour where the starting temperative was 43 degrees. These DeFeet Armskins kept my arms feeling warm and comfortable. When the temp rose above 60 they come off easily and back down to nothing for storage. Great product for the PNW.
like these a lot. Lost my first pair, which actually was too small for me, so ordered these in large, and fit is much better, and I definitely do not have large arms for a guy. Small fit my wife well.
