The camera has been functioning fine, my only qualms are the software - the phone app seems fine, but the desktop software to do overlays, etc is super buggy the last time I used it (aka would not work).
Had to do some googling to find some info to use Garmin Virb instead, which worked fine.
I've been using it on my gopro mount on my newer bike, and the one that came with the camera has been fairly sturdy and works fine - little hard to route around the shift/brake cables, but fine once you get it down. Perhaps if the mount was a little more extended (longer?) it would be easier.
I've had my ups and downs with the front and rear lights. I bought them 4 yrs ago, have had to replace the rear one (they could not fix it) and I think I have a good idea of what you can expect.
1st, the quality of the video is surprisingly good and the audio is pretty impressive too. They have addressed the most annoying problem by shipping the cameras with their own SD card now. This thing is not a light. It's a digital camera that has a light function as a feature. If the SD card is damaged, corrupted, not formatted correctly etc you have a paper weight.
The other really bad problem is the front mount. It will break. Guarnteed. The front ligh tis bit heavy and the cheap mount is not sturdy enough to hold it. I've broken 2. You will need to buy the retention strap ($17) to avoid watching it skitter away...into a storm drain in my case.
Excellent light and camera combination; however the battery does not last as long as it reports. I get about 2 rides of 1.5 hrs before needing a charge while using daylight flash and camera mode. The biggest flaw with this light is the mounts. Simply put...they are not strong enough to withstand the weight and vibration from riding. The handle bar mount strips very easily and the universal mount to use with the duo mount will break. Due to Covid Cycliq cannot sell replacements until March. For me...my $280 light has been sitting unused since April.
The mounts need to be made of aluminum or lighten the weight of the unit. If you purchase... support the light with some type of support to dampen vibration..ie...tape, strap, etc. The rear light has a better support system.
I owned both Fly6 and Fly12CE. Great product when they work, which is a very short life. Temperamental and both failed within first year. Customer service is horrible. Check out Trustpilot.com
I've had both a Fly6 and a Fly12 for nearly two years. The Fly12 lasted around 18 months and the Fly6 gave up a couple of months later. Both are great ideas but the execution and the customer service at Cycliq sucks.
I found the support poor and the product VERY hard to use
