Sturdy, long lasting
great inner tube, very seldom a puncture!
good reliable tube. some of the cheaper tubes seem to get bit more easily and can take more care to install. these work well at 100-110 psi and seem to last and work well.
I use these tubes in my Conti GP4000S tires. IMO a winning combo. Provides a compliant ride with better than average durability.
Use them for training and club racing
I trust this tube to do its job more than competing ones. The valve stem is top notch and holds pressure longer than others. I like the removable valve core so I can use a valve extender. You can expect to pay a dollar more per tube than for competitor's tubes. And 60mm valve stem length is fully that. A competitor's 60mm did not extend through my 52mm rims enough to get a pump head on it.
Bought four of these, got two flats on two consecutive rides for no apparent reason. Valve misfunctioned on the third one when I replaced the second flat, so all of my CO2 went into space, leaving me in the middle of freaking nowhere and having to ride 10km home on the rim. NOT HAPPY. The fourth one is already in the trash can. You can bet I won't make this mistake again.
Had slight leaks on first installation
Used mostly for road riding and some cyclocross rides.
This used to be my go to tube, NOT anymore. The last 3 tubes have all burst at the seams, litterally. All after being ridden for only a few days. Not sure if I got a bad batch but not worth trying these again.
These tubes hold air. But all tubes are only as good as the tires protecting them. Read my other review on Continental GatorSkins. There is no substitute. In Conti we trust.
I've been using these tubes in Continental Gran Prix 4000 All Seasons, 4000S, and now 5000 tires for years. While they're not bombproof (what road tube is?), they provide a good balance of weight and puncture resistance, particularly when coupled with Conti tires. Available in a variety of stem lengths, they're my go-to road tube year round.
Excellent overall inner tube. Good for training or racing. Relatively light with a good price.
it is a totally reliable tube. no problems or unexpected issues
Great tube with my rig once up and running; I find it a little fussy to install because of its lightness -- easy to catch the tube between the tire bead and rim; a bit of thought to have just the right bit of inflation to seat the tube properly.
I only use continental Gator Skins and their variations as tires and figure it's best to match tubes !! I've had very good luck with both, maybe 3 or 4 flats in ten years. They do lose a little more air than some of their competitors but the fact they last as long as they do and are puncture resistant - makes me a return buyer !!
Needed tires and tubes for my Vintage Schwinn road bike. Found good value and nice quality.
I had one go down during a 100k about 25 miles into ride. Couldn't find any obvious reason, however I was trying Stan's in it,made a large mess so had to discard instead of taking home to investigate
I bought a couple of these and haven't had an issues yet.
I ride daily and check air pressure every time before I ride, these hardly loose any pressure in a couple days, then its just a pound or two that I need to add. I run at 110 lbs. and they work great!!!!
