Perfect combo of durability and performance!
Excellent tire,nice comfort.
Great price ??
We got tired of air leakage with GP5000 tubeless, plus having to clean inside on a schedule. Went back to clincher GP5000 with great results. On ordinary suburban rides (i.e. not inner city or such with glass everywhere), have never gotten a flat with these. Love them.
Best price found online. Shipping was quick. Figment was a bit tricky, but once in place the tan walls made my bike look nice and roll a bit faster. Steel is real.
I think the size 28mm tire is about the perfect size for the road after many years of riding a size 23mm. It also allows you to go a few more places than a thinner tire. I got the transparent version which looks retro and the performance is that they feel fast, sturdy and perfect for the chip and seal roads where I ride. I would recommend to anyone who wants a fast, durable, stable tire.
The tire rim is very rigid and as a result, it is hard to break the bead. This becomes a challenge when you have a flat on the road. I am told that Continental are changing to a 2 ply as they have had a lot of complaints.
I also had a split in the tire wall after 500 KMs (300 miles) of riding. Not sure if that was a road hazard or a tire issue.
I've always loved Continental tires for my bike. They are great tires and last a long time. When I decided to build my new bike I wanted to really make it "pop" so I decided to put GP5000 tan walls on it and they look incredible!!! The S-Works Tarmac SL7 is an incredible bike and these tires take it to the next level.
Smooth ride, great handling. I get over 4000 miles on them but I rotate at 2k to even out the wear. A very high quality tire but a little on the expensive side. However, well worth the price. I use the 700x32 because it has better ride & handling.
Bought these specifically for RTR. 6 days of biking is all conditions ( except snow). Zero issues, no flats. Initial install on Bontrager Aeolus Elite 35 was very easy. Saw lots of these tires on other bikes and all 3 in our groupused these. Flawless performance 475 miles in 6 days and 29,000+ feet of climbing.
Always ridden Continental GP5009 tires and they still continue to deliver a solid product. I get maybe one or two punctures a year. Just got the 700x28, black and cream and look great. Roll fast and smooth.
This is the tire that you are fancy, if you just want to ride around or even race! Usually racing tires won't last, due to their compound rubber technology. But this handles really well + cornering with tires is really safe, they grip so well that you don't even worry about .
Love the tires as they are fast and high quality for the money.
I put these tires on in the summer and put 3-4000 miles on them before switching
to the 4 season tires for the Winter.
My choice for all tarmac rides. Good grip, very easy to mount and fit to rim. I run inner tubes and never had a puncture on them.
My only gripe is that tread wears out a lot faster than the predecessor GP 4000s.
Good purchase
These have been my go to tires for a while now. Never had a flat with them and they feel really slick and fast. Putting them on is a bit of a hassle but with decent tire levers its not a big deal.
I went back to these tires after trying multiple other brands and found these just last longer and are significantly better for a puncture protection. They typically ride on gravel roads and show no scarring after hundreds of miles.
These tires r recommended as good tires but are nearly impossible to get on the rim. They are just way to tight, if I ever get a flat there won't be any changing along side the road cause I won't have the strength
I have used Contis for years and have made the transition to their tubeless. During the pandemic I tried another brand (supply chain) and they didn't have the same road feel, and durability was also less. I have continental tires on all of my bikes
The Conti GP5K is probably today's go-to standard for a basic all around tire. I don't race, so I can't comment on it's performance under those conditions. But for the average rider, these tires roll very smoothly, are relatively grippy, and have pretty long tread life. I have them on all my bikes.
This is used on my performance titanium bike. Very good durability. Use then on paved backroads and sometimes crushed stone trails common as rec trails in WI.
A little pricey, but probably still a good value considering tire life.
Used the 32mm with tubes for a month and about 500 miles after a 6 month back order. I ran over something that put a 1 inch slice in the rear and now that tire is useless. Maybe just bad luck but will not order them again. I'll stick with the 4-season or gatorskin.
