I've been running on Continental Grand Prix tires all year, ridden almost 2,000 miles on them and they're still in good condition. The tires are fast and smooth and i'd recommend them to anyone.
Excellent performance. Holds up well. The only tire I use.
Even though it is rated as a racing tire, it works well for all-around riding. I get 2-2.5k miles out of the rear tire. Our roads are relatively rough and I don't get many flats.
Best clincher on the market
I can go miles and miles on these tires without a flat . The price is great and well worth it !
I run these in 25. Theyre comfy with excellent grip and feel. My only concern is ease of cutsnicks. I lost a 40 mile old rear to a small piece of broken glass, which I have never experienced in my life. I bought another one, regardless.
I purchase these at a good price. These are my tire of choice for all year around riding and racing.
Since switching to 700X 25 over the 23, I've yet to have a flat! Think of that......I
'll never ride another tire.
Really like these tires. They wear very well. The ride is better than previous tires I have ridden. Zero flats or cuts on the tread. No problems handling chip & seal or less than ideal surfaces. Wish they would make a tubeless version.
This is a review of the Conti GP 4000s II.
This tire has it all, wet and dry performance, puncture protection, durability and a good price. This would be my tire of choice for general road bike riding if the Michelin Pro4 Endurance wasn't available for nearly $20 less. The GP4000s II wears better and lasts longer than the Pro4 Endurance but due to the cost difference the Michelin is a bit lower cost per mile.
Really can't ask for more from a tire
like the way they roll - like the way they look - and i get very few flats!
These are my year round tires for training. They are durable and have good grip, even in wet conditions. I use these year after year. Wouldn't put these on my race wheels, a little heavy for that, but a great tire for everyday use.
I put a fresh set of these tires on before the 2017 Levi's Gran Fondo. I rode the IL Regno route which is 116 miles and over 10,000 feet of climbing. The roads in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County, CA are extremely rough and this route took us on a mixture of dirt, gravel, pot holes, you name it! The tires held up exceptionally well without any issues. Last year I rode the 4 Seasons tire, but these Grand Prix 4000s II tires inspired just as much confidence on any type of roads.
Great all-around tire! Great grip and acceptability durability! I rode these tires across the USA with only one cut and several flats in about 3000 miles....Another fellow rider used the Hardshell gatorskins....with even better durability...but definitely a slower tire than the GP4000 S II. I prefer these tires to the Specialized S-Works Turbo tires that came as original equipment on my Tarmac.
Excellent tire.
The best tire out there and a great price
I always get 8-10 k miles. I rotate front to back as wear indicates.
Great tires. I upgraded form Mavic ykson equipe, so not a great comparison. However, the difference is quite noticeable. I used to get a lot of flats with the Mavic's but that may be the area i was riding. Since I have changed to these Conti, no flats. Not yet anyway! I have about 1500km on these now and they are grippy and smoother and I certainly feel more confident with them now since I have more time on them.
5 stars for the tires
4 stars for the price
I have been riding for many years. Strictly a clincher guy, and I have found this tire to be a great ride.
Very durable, comfortable, and lasts a long time. Does not cut easily.
Also, and I agree, others have said the GP4000 descends very well.
I would easily recommend this tire.
