These are amazing tires-virtually puncture proof. These tires make such a difference-no flats, ride well and therefore, make my rides worry free.
This is the first Gatorskin Black Edition I have purchased. I normally get 9,000 miles a year out of my Continental Hardshell's and I believe I will get the same out of the Black Edition.
I always feel safe on continental tires.

Not the lightest tire, they are bombproof.
I rode them 2600 miles this year and only got one flat at the end of the season which is pretty good considering sharing the road with metal recycling trucks.
Been riding these for years, moved to 28mm size for more comfortable feel. A bit heavy but good puncture resistance and sturdy, lasting tread, a very good tire.
Sure it's a bit heavier than the 5000, but the added weight beats a puncture tire change

Good reliable training tire, handles winter roads well. Little on the heavy side but unless you are a pro these are more than adequate even for harder, faster rides.
