Use the 700c x 28mm for fitness riding on all sorts of paved surfaces. Easy to mount with the wire bead and pump to 100 psi. The casing and tread have held up better than some of the other Conti Ultra tires. Probably have 500 miles and am very happy. I am 6'3" 285lbs.
I have gone to 70X32 and dropped my pressure 10 PSI. The ride is a little softer and I don't notice any difference in rolling resistance. I try to check my tires every few weeks for cuts and dig out anything hidden in the cuts. I've been running gatorskins for about five years and have fewer flats than my friends with tubeless tires.
I use it for training and racing in though terrain
I use the tire in my commuting bike. Feel confident that I can get to work and get home without a fat.
Great tyre for every day riding, usually swap them out after a year of use, can't ask for more than that!!
Bought 28cc tire as a replacement to my original 23cc tires. Have about 400 miles on the new tires and they seem to be functioning ning well. No cuts or flats in the tread. Smoother ride and were easy to install. Look forward to putting on many more care free miles.
I gave these tires to my daughter who lives in Oakland CA and uses a bike as her primary mode of transportation. She loves them!
Road bike tire. Foldable tires easier to change on the road.
With the wet cold weather it just feels safer to have good tires on my bike.
This purchase was for the 700C x 32 Gatorskin. I've had great wear on the 650C x 23 Gatorskins I use on my Bacchetta recumbent, and very few flats.
It was time to replace the original 700C x 32C Bontragers on my Trek Crossrip, With the replacement of the rear tire only, my speed was comfortably several mph faster. Apparently the Bontragers were that stiff. When it's time to replace the front tire, the other Gatorskin in the pair I bought will go there. Maybe the ride will be even better then. In case, I'm confident that I'll get great wear out of them.
I have used Gatorskins for years. They are like an old shoe comfortable, reliable and at a fair price. I am very happy with the product. The only reason I don't give them five stars is that I don't know if there are better tires out there.
I am new to the road cycle game so I was looking for a tire that I goog learn on and grow with. Living in Northeast Pennsylvania means that roads are not the greatest so durability in a tire was essential for me. The gatorskin fits both of these points for me and I have been enjoying them quite a bit. This also was my first time changing my own tires and from all of the reviews I read they were said that the Gatorskin was difficult to put on the wheel. I will admit that the first one wasn't easy but once i figured out the nuances of the tire on that one the second was much easier to install. Looking forward to many miles on this set of tires. 282 so far.
It snowediced in Portland this year which was incredibly annoying and made road conditions strange. Totally devastated my cheaper tires, cool until now, in the gritty aftermath.
After a few $20 replacements I got hip to the fact that Gatorskins would shoulder these conditions and I'm happy to report I've been flat-free for an entire season.
I'll give you 5 stars for now but if I recently bust please know I'll write a fresh review and excessively whine. Until then.
I put the 32s on my cyclocross bike to ride around town and bike trails and could not be happier. I'm shocked how easy they roll, similar to my 23s on my road bike, but so much more comfortable going over Wisconsin winter heaved and snow plow battered roads. Because of these 32s, I'm planning on getting 25s for my road bike. I know 25s won't provide as much comfort as 32s but they should help a little with comfort without sacrificing much speed.
This tire has been very reliable! This is my third purchase of this tire and will continue to purchase!
Now I don't have much experience with bicycles and even less with tires, but I went to a few shops and they all said the same thing about these tires really good, but kind of expensive. With that said, I got these tires because of how much this place was selling them in comparison to the shops that I asked around. I've had these on my hybrid for about 2 months now? How do they ride? perfect. Haven't had an issue yet. I have ridden in light rain to hot days. I haven't had an issue yet! Again, I do have to say, I don't have much experience with bicycle tires so I may not have much to compare it to though.
Have used Gatorskins for my all-around road tire for several years. They are more resistant to puncture than other brands I have tried, they wear well and handle well. I like the folding version of the tire because it is lighter which is always an advantage.
I live near a road that is been deemed "Shrapnel Alley" on Strava these tires get me through there hundreds of times a year without flats. And when I've had a flat the amount of discarded debris is beyond the normal amount and would send cars to the tire shop.
I have been riding on Gatorskin tires for over 10 years. I find them to be very durable with very few flats. I'm a recreational cyclist so durability is preferable to possibly a lighter weight. I recently switched from wire bead to folding. I think folding is slightly easier to put on, plus they are much easier to transport on a bike tour.
I ride about 10k miles a year and ride only gatorskin now. I've tried other tires but these get by far the fewest flats and last between 6000-7000 miles. Best tire on the market in my opinion.
