My very standard Camelback Podium water bottle does not fit well in the cage. The bottom support arms are too short. With my bottle in the cage it pushes the whiplash curve out- and will not hold a bottle securely. There are a couple reviews with this observation. Other reviews are positive. Seems like a role of the dice. I'd return it if i didn't throw out all the packaging, and I definitely wouldn't purchase again.
This cage does exactly what it should, holds my bottles tight
The Blackburn Chicane bottle cage holds the water bottle securely, and has never lost a bottle.
Great cage great price!
Keeps bottles very secure! There cages what else could you say
Works well, holds 24 oz water on gravel, logging roads, bumpy descents, etc. Doesn't mark the bottle, fairly light weight, totally affordable. Anything more puts you into poseurville.
Bought these for my Fat Bike and Gravel Bike. They're light, easy to place and remove bottles from. They hold my water bottles in tight over technical terrain. Another plus is I can always caress them tighter in the event that I duff it and bend one. Knock on wood!
I recently purchased two Blackburn Chicane Bottle Cages. They seem to be inconsistently manufactured. One is great and holds bottles tightly. The other is very loose and I've had bottles fly out when going over bumps. I've tried the same bottle in both cages, one fits snug and the other wiggles. Disappointed with this inconsistency.
This is a basic good looking and functional cage for a great price. It is the right color and gauge to match classic steel bikes.
Build quality is fine although the Blackburn cage seems to be designed for smaller diameter water bottles than my Camelback Podium bottles.
We know what we want bottle cages to do, how to do it, and even better if they are well made, look good, and are a good value to boot. These are all that and a bag of chips.
These bottle cages hold on tight even on my gravel bike. The best part is no more black marks on my bottles!
Cost a bit more but light enough and holds fine ( would be nicer if it had the little plastic gripping buttons near the top like the Aluminum ones do). Holds well anyway haven't lost a bottle yet. Leaves no marks on my bottles. Strong and realistically light weight.
Hold the water bottle fine for road bike use. Yesterday hitting a big dippot hole at 30mph on a downhill section was the 1st real test for holding power. Bottles stayed put. Easy to pull out and replace the bottles. None of my water bottles look showroom new. Don't really care if the cage does or does not mar the bottles. So far, don't notice any new marks on the bottle.
use this cage on my road bike. I do a lot of climbing so I needed the weight savings. The design holds the bottle from bouncing out on the wicked descents, but it also allows for easy out and in when I need a drink.
