If you're looking for an alternative to a plastic bottle, then this is it. Well, the top is a hard plastic and there are some food grade silicone components, but it's as much plastic as there is in the typical stainless steel travel mug. As far as how it works, tip it up and the water flows out faster than you expect, certainly as well as any squeeze bottle I've owned. AND it's really easy to keep clean.
Works great. The bare metal is a little easier to get in and out of a cage. The ones with color have a coating that make them a little stickier - which I've appreciated on bumpy gravel descents!
Tilt the bottle and a continuous stream of water is available. No squeezing, it just flows into your mouth making it easier to get a good swing of liquid. Bottles are easy to clean as well.
