Assos is SO proud of their bibs, and being somewhat skeptical that the bibs are the chosen of the cycling gods, I waited to purchase until I could get them at a significant discount from their absurd retail price. I am glad I ordered them, and glad I waited for a more reasonable price.
Pros: Comfortable straps - a must for long rides; lower front waist section = easier rest stops for men; very good chamois
Cons: fabric is a less durable than I would have expected with some degradation after just a few washes on gentle cycle; grippers are a bit weaker and are losing their taught original grip after just a few rides. The chamois will last but the grippers seem doubtful for the long-haul.
I like the product but fear for its durability.
The bibs themselves are good, but they are no better than bibs half their price. I won't be purchasing them again unless they are in the bargain bin. Save your money and go with something where you aren't paying for a label.
Definitely good value for a sale price. Rode on a 50+ mile ride and felt very comfortable and secure downstairs. Im 5'8" with a slender built pear shaped @ 167 lbs. I sized up to a Large.
the best confort for longue rides
