i dont know how i rode all these years without my swiss army knift
I apply the cream liberally directly to my skin. A reapplication is helpful if the ride goes more than 60 miles (which seems to be true for me of all these types of creams).
Apply to your chamois and your crotch and ride all day in comfort. The jar lasts a long time as only a small amount is needed.
Every ride, I smear a generous portion on my chamois, pre-ride. I like the feeling I get, coooool satisfaction! However, it becomes increasingly expensive to use...and only came in a (rather) small container.
I've tried PaceLine Eurostyle Chamois Butt'r and Personal Best Product's Betwixt Skin Lubricant & Chamois Creme, and I always come back to Assos. The PaceLine product is the closest I can find in quality and performance to Assos. It's thicker, and seems to last almost as long. The Betwixt product comes in a larger container, at a lower cost, but because it is much thinner, I find myself using more.
On short rides (25 miles) Eurostyle and Betwixt are just fine. But on longer rides (2530 miles), when you really start to sweat, especially if the weather is warm, I find that the Assos product is better than any of the others.
Yes, it's the most expensive creme out there, so save your points up and get it on sale.
Even though DZ Nutz is the gold standard with me, Assos scores top ranks in all categories. It is non greasy and irritating. Not an overpowering smell, for when you are out on a long day and stop for a beer before you hit the showers... It lasts a decent amount of time and is very comfortable. I am bigger gear masher who does not dance on the pedals as much and I tend to grind away in the saddle for longer amounts of time. Hence my preference for DZ.
I apply it directley to my skin, not to the chamois
Been using this product for over five years and it works great'
Protects from saddle soars rashes without any kind of build up
This is by far the best chamois cream I've ever used. Slight cooling effect but not over the top like some others I've tried. Doesn't break down even on long rides
I have tried a number of chamois creams and this is the best I know. It's simple really I never get any sores when wearing this cream.
It is perhaps explained by the fact the Assos also make about the most comfortable chamois I have had, so they robably understand it better.
Only one very trivial complaint. I sort of prefer the tubes that other creams come in to the Assos jar but that's a tiny quibble
I have sensitive skin down there and many chamois cremes irritate me and causes redness. One application and I know that this creme won't work for me. Paceline Chamois Butt'r and Chomper Body Bollock work better for me. I am sure this is a great product for most people without sensitive skin
Chamois creme that does exactly what it should. One container lasts me a very long time, as a little goes a long way. Slightly chilling effect, which is fine during the summer but come winter I wish it didn't have that feature. Not the cheapest creme out there but I feel it's money well spent.
I refuse to be side-lined by saddle sores. I use at least a little chamois creme on every ride. I've tried several brands. Clearly, There is a lot of personal, subjective opinion in this product category, but Assos is best for me.
I've been using it before riding for many years, and now can't ride wuith out it.
I initially resisted this product due to what seemed like a high price. Upon finding it on sale, i started using it and found it to be great. It works all day and due to its thickness, a little bit goes a long way. Plus, it's a very high quality combination of ingredients that work during the ride and to avoid sores or rashes afterwards.
The creme is the best I've tried. Cool when applied but not like the old Icy Hot. Definitely does its job to reduce chaffing.
I've tried a lot of chammy creams, and while I want to dislike this because it is more expensive, I do think it is the best I have found. I ride my bike about 12 hours a week, to give some perspective. Stock up when this is on sale!
No complaints whatsoever, does what it is suppose to do, would not ride without it, been a fan for the last 5 years.
Anything good for your crotch is good for you. This stuff is buttery smooth, never stains, is not a bit greasy, and keeps you riding longer without irritation. Definitely worth the price. I'd never ride without it.
I have been using Assos chamois creme almost exclusively for over five years now. I have tried others, but have always found this one to be my favorite. It has a great consistency - not too thick, not too runny - so it stays where you put it and provides excellent lubrication. It also has a low profile pleasant odor.
Using this creme with your Assos bibs or shorts is a no-brainer since Assos makes it and guarantees that it will not damage your Assos clothing. It is expensive, but no more so than other high quality chamois cremes.
