These shifters perform flawlessly. I bought these as an upgrade to replace my Shimano 105 5800 levers, and I couldn't be happier. The textured grip is noticeablely better, and there is a crisper, cleaner shift on both the frontend and backend. The feel of hoods in my hands are much more comfortable while riding due to improved ergonomic shaping and the increased reach adjustment has made a big difference in comfort and safety since it is now now much easier to reach the brake levers on the hoods and especially in the drops. These shifters are brilliant. Highly recommend!!!
These shifters work great, they feel good in hand, on the hoods & aero hoods positions despite being made ergonomically smaller for smaller hands. I used an old Claris setup before & the tops of the hoods were massive & easy to grab with 3rd & 4th digits. The Ultegra shifters shift with an audible snap & simultaneous shifting action at the rear mech. These are absolutely fantastic, hope to do many miles on them.
Upgraded components recently from 2007 Ultegra 10-speed triple to an 11-speed double including these levers. I have both DA and Ultegra bikes but I have to say, it's Ultegra that is my first choice with Shimano components! Great engineering, and ergonomics but what really separates Ultegra in my mind is the durability. Yes DA shaves a few grams here and there but in my experience it trades durability and the premium is just not worth it.
These function as flawlessly as you would expect and look amazing of course, if I could afford Dura Ace I would buy it but everything I've read suggests I wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. I definitely love the increased reach adjustment, I have relatively small hands so being able to get my fingers around the lever while in the drops is very reassuring.
