Love this light.

Like this light's unique mounting ratcheted bracket. Quick and easy to install on any part of the bike. So far has stayed bright on first charge through many hours of riding. Retains memory of which mode you used last/when you turn it on again, you don't have to cycle through the modes to find the one you want to use.

Thought I had a bum light. Pushed button with new batteries and no light! Checked batteries then I wondered if it was like a tablet or cell. Held the switch and it came on! Dang newfangled electronics! -) Works great, attachesmoves easily, and very bright!

Extremely visible from behind

I like that there are 3 different modes on the unit. I prefer the flashing red since it draws attention from behind. The clip can be used on a saddle bag and it has stayed on my bike when going over semi-rough terrain.

No need for a screwdriver

Great light that is super bright. And I actually use it, since I don't have to attach some weird holder to my road bike that doesn't come off easily.

I wanted a light for my road bike, for riding in low light conditions (winter afternoons, snow/rain etc). I like this light, since it's easy to attach/remove the mount. And it has a great clip on it, so putting it on my bag or back of my jacket for commuting is easy and secure.

Great product at a great price

This light is way better than it has any right to be considering its extremely affordable price. It feels very sturdy. It attaches to the bike very securely. It's brighter than I could have imagined. It works better than I could have hoped for.

The light modes are great, I especially love the strobing mode. It's very bright and VERY attention-grabbing. I have not used any of the other similarly priced lights available on this site, but I can't imagine there could be a better light at this price point. It works so well and feels so solid that I really cannot ask for anything more from a bike light, besides, I suppose recharging capability, which this light does not have. However, with your own set of rechargeable batteries, the only hassle becomes taking the light apart for removing the batteries. The nice thing is that you don't need a screw driver to take the light apart for battery changing, disassembly is simply a matter of depressing a clip on the edge of the light shell with a fingernail and pulling off part of the shell. It's very easy to do once you figure out how it works.

In short, I would totally recommend this light to anybody who doesn't need a light with built in recharging capability.

Long battery life, easy installation (one size fits all - no more shims!), and handy last-setting memory. A great light.

Bright and comes on in same mode as when it was shut off. Attachment is easy and so far very secure.
by mntandem

The attachment works well and makes it easy to fasten to bicycle. Seems very bright and has several modes to choose from. Light comes on is same mode it was previously running at, like that feature since I usually run the light in the same mode most of the time so don't have to fiddle with it to toggle it to the pattern I want.

Excellent light, excellent value

The light I bought uses standard AAA batteries. It's an excellent light. The 'memory' switch is great. Hold the on/off button for a long second to turn the light on or off. Press the on/off button to cycle through the modes. The light will turn on to the last mode selected! Battery life is great (but aren't all LED lights great). The mounting hardware is top-notch. This his NOT a light that comes with two cheap nylon ties. The mounting strap is tough enough to repair the heater hose on my care. I mount these lights fore and aft on my bikes, and use the clear (or white) ones on the front. Even the 3-led front light is bright!

Unlike many other LED lights that have a tendency to 'switch off', the Cateye has proven very reliable. Great all round visibility with transparent housing
