On sale, this turned out to be a great deal. The stretchy merino fleece is comfortable and light. It gives nice coverage to the throat and back of the neck, and its stretchiness gives it the flexibility to cover the neck and top of the head, or act like a balaclava in really cold weather. If fashion doesn't matter, I think it functions better than a scarf.
