Practical economic indoor trainer

I was looking for a basic indoor trainer that wouldn't break the bank. The Blackburn Tech Mag 1 meets all my requirements. Set up is easy and intuitive, seems like it would fit most bikes (mine is a mountain bike with smooth tires). Folds up flat for easy storage.

Does not properly fit a standard 26 inch wheel.

I am 67 years old and have biked over 150,000 miles lifetime on numerous bikes and types. I always found Blackburn products to be excellent. However, The screw bolt roller adjustment for this trainer is half an inch too short to fit a standard 26 inch wheel although it states that it fits a 26 X 1 inch. I saw these specks here and at the Blackburn site so I assumed that they were telling the truth. Wrong! I called Blackburn's help number and the female tech help person I spoke to said that not all 26 inch wheels were alike and that all 3 of mine that I own must clearly be non-standard. BS! She told me to return it. I finally found a fatter and wider tire (larger than 1 inch width) that barely fits and works.

I refuse to ride my 700c wheel Trek 5200 or my 1975 Falcon San Remo (powder blue frame) designed by Ernie Clements on a trainer so using another size bike is out of the question.

Perhaps some cost savings expert decided to go with a shorter screw bolt adjustment bolt to save a couple of pennies and the original design was changed.

Buyer beware!
