Got this to replace my old Mortirolo jacket which was getting worn even before being damaged in a crash. Unlike the old one, this doesn't have side vents for cases when temps warm up during the day, but improved breathability should somewhat compensate for that. Felt good riding in low 40s, with a second base layer should be fine for upper 30s. Normally I wear Medium in Castelli, but prefer tailored/race fit - since this is regular fit I was on the fence, but still went with M for layering and worried about being short. It has long cut and sleeves and stretchy fabric so I should've probably gotten Small, but decided to keep M as it's OK for winter. 5'9"+, ~145lb.
I put in a lot of spring and fall miles and a vest is a must-have item, some days for the full ride and some days only until it warms up. This vest is very well constructed and uses top quality materials. The front is highly windproof while the back breathes very well. It's well fitted and long enough to layer well over a jersey. I was most surprised that even with the windproof front panel, it's still very packable and easy to roll up and store in a jersey pocket if the temperatures rise during the ride. It's not an inexpensive piece, but it's well-made and worth the extra money. I expect this vest will last a very long time.
I've ridden this jacket on and off about 300 miles since January 30th in Central WI mainly in the mid to upper 30s to as warm as 50F in very windy conditions. It is made of very good materials and does the job of keeping me warm with very good visibility (lime green). I purchased to replace a 2013 Biemme Windstopper Jacket in Blue. While the old jacket worked well down to 40F it just wasn't effective in the 30s and in today's careless driver era, the dark blue color no longer was sufficient to stay visible on our modern distracted driver roadways. In temps in the 30s I wear an Assos under layer paired with a UA thermal running layer. Above 50 I trade this jacket for a thin long sleeve riding jersey and same under layers. I'm 6'1' 175-180 lbs and Size L fits great with the aforementioned under layers. Great investment!
I do like this jersey but the sleeves are super long, as in I could cover most of my hands, if I don't cuff them or leave them bunched up on my forearms. You can notice it the picture of the product on the website. The sleeves are noticably bunched up on the model.
I am 73" tall and 170#s with a 73" armspan, which is not short armed. I purchased the Medium. I decided to keep the jersey because of it's other positives and I use it for winter slogging and don't care that the sleeeves are not aero. Positives are it's nice and warm for the colder rides below 50F or so, the torso fits well and is not too long like the sleeves.
If you are long armed or don't care about non-aero/wrinkly sleeve profile then it's a great jersey for the pricepoint.
