I transferred classic road bike cages to my new gravel bike. First ride I lost bottles multiple times as I hit washboards or other bouncy spots. These Gorilla cages are the real deal, extremely secure bottle and not crazy hard to get my drink in and out of. A little pricey, but definitely worth the extra cost as they really work well.
XLAB products always exceed expectations. I listen to other cyclist complain about their water bottles always jumping out of their cages and onto the road. With XLAB Gorilla cages, I never have to worry about that happening. It's easy to grab my bottle out of the cage and easy to get back in with the confidence of knowing I won't lose it on the next bump in the road.
I read reviews that this was the cage to purchase to prevent your water bottles from launching. So far I have had to retrieve my water bottles multiple times. The bottles are mounted to the XLAB Super Wing as per there instructions. I am using new CamelBak water bottles because XLAB stated the bottles need to have a groove for the tab to catch. The bottles are very hard to remove so I don't know why they are launching. I am riding paved roads in southern Utah. I guess I could have purchased cages for half the price and placed a rubber band on them to keep them from launching.
Gorilla bottle cages are the best you can find, I have these on my TT bike and the bottles stay put.. period, plus I know this is subjective but I think they look the best and Im not really a fan of bottles on the seat tube but I think Gorillas even look great there also, the matte black comes with black lettering which I put on my S-Works Tarmac..
