Best mechanical brake available

Stops as well as a hydraulic when properly adjusted and in the "sweet spot" of its adjustment. Mechanical disc brakes are compatible with any mechanical brake lever, are easy to adjust, don't require messy bleeding, and don't care if you apply the brakes with nothing between the pads. The Spyre has two big advantages over other mechaical disc brakes: 1) the pads close from both sides. Most other mechanical disc brakes (especially the really expensive overrated one) closes from one side, pushing the rotor into the stationary pad. They say it's because they can only fit the mechanism on one side. Maybe their engineers just aren't as smart as the Taiwanese! 2) The pads can be individually adjusted with a 3mm hex wrench from either side. I don't even use the cable adjuster, I just use the 3mm hex wrench!

Great Option

Nice modulation

Maybe not as powerful as my hydro Rival

Easy to maintain and you can use ergo shifters not the bulky uncomfortable shifters from Sram and Shimano

I bought a pair. Flat mount for the rear. Very simple to setup. Lever force required is still pretty high, but the feel is exceptionally firm, even with full length housing that was required in my case. Note that the 1800mm housing supplied with a Shimano cable set is barely long enough if you ride a larger bike with long chainstays.
