Necessity for SRAM AXS road flattop chains. Stock up on a bunch especially if you need to take your chain on/off frequently (like for waxing). Not 100% sure on the one-time use aspect, but better to be safe than to risk damaging your drivetrain.
Really make sure to line up the notches and make sure it's securely locked. I've had times where I line up the notch on the front, but the notch looked "OK" in the back. Nope! That resulted in a snapped power lock
I have yet to find an aftermarket link that is reliable, so I stick to OE links. I will tape AF links to my bike, for a 'just in case' scenario happens, if I or someone else needs to make it home.
Easy to use with right tool. Can also use a wire. Wax my chain, so a must have. Fair price.
These links are so much better than the old method of replacing pins. Only question is how often these can be re-used. Is SRAM being overly conservative? Remember to keep a spare with your tire plugs!

Reasonably priced, genuine SRAM replacement part at a good price. Not much to say. Cheap insurance for a day ride gone bad. I hope I never need to use it.
You must have these if you remove your chain for any reason, you can not reuse the old power link. If you are using the Sarm Red or Force 12 speed AXS groupsets this is the powerlock to get. MAKE SURE you get the right powerlock there are others that look the same but will not work, The power lock is easy to use ,you just have to line it up right so it snaps in correctly and locks the arrow on the power lock has to point in the direction of the pedal stroke, moving forward. If you have not used them before might want to get 2 sets just incase of a mistake, i installed mine and was just a little off on lining it up and only half snapped in and i could not get the other side to snapp closed i had to remove it and you cant reuse it cuz one side was locked and not the other, dam it, any ways buy 2 and your covered.
If you own a SRAM 12 speed AXS system you know this is a must have item. I find these perfect for replacing / re waxing the chain on a regular basis.
Just what it is supposed to be used for. I carry this in my tool bag has an emergency item. I figure the chain will probably stretch and wear out before I ever will have to use a link like this.
They are a needed component in my chain cleaning obsession.
I never reuse these and I wax my chains. Use the flattop road with force red or rival. Does the job and using a new one is peace of mind!
