I usually get the sweetened version but thought I'd give this a try. As others have said, it doesn't really taste like much. I just add a scoop of sugar though and it's fine. I work out enough and am not a diabetic so can handle it. I think it needs more citrus.
I am sure this works well as electrolytes, but it really doesn't taste very good. I got all three - orange, lime, and lemon-lime, at least I think that's what the 3 options were. Regardless of the names they really don't taste like much. The orange tasted kinda like soap. The lime one is better, but not great.
If all you want is electrolytes and with a tiny squeeze of real fruit flavor that you need 2+ scoops to even recognize, then that's what this is. It's just not very satisfying to drink.
I've used a lot of Skratch products and had high expectations. This was a huge, tasteless disappointment. Save yourself the money buy some limes (2 for a dollar where I live). Squeeze the juice in a jug, add a little salt, add water to taste. Cheers--you just made 10 servings of this product.
Getting it on sale, as it becomes a 4-5 star value at that point. If you want more flavor, you can add more powder, and carry a plain water in the second cage.
Bit pricey but good sports drink supplement--very good taste. Use it on long (50+mile) bike rides
It does the job without adding sugar and I use it for pre hydration on hot days. Kinda spendy though
It`s hot out there folks. I like to have a bottle with Skratch and one with water. Then a bit more skratch after the ride. Cramping is no fun... better safe than sorry.
