I recently tried this product for the first time when it was on sale. I bought the fruit punch flavor, and it barely had any flavor to it whatsoever, leaving it tasting like lightly salted sugar water with a hint of fruit. It has a decent amount of sodium in it, but very little potassium. I plan to stick with Liquid IV or the Pedialyte Sport packets. I live in the desert and require serious hydration when I'm out on my bike.
This is the best hydration mix I've used to date. It's light flavor doesn't get too heavy during long rides and is easy on the stomach. I use the lemon-lime, to which the Skratch hi-carb mix of the same flavor can be added.
Skratch Hydration has made on-the-bike hydration really simple. I used to struggle with cramping on the bike and after the ride. Not so much anymore. It's easy to adjust Skratch strength and volume to the weather and the ride, whether hot or cold, long or short, intense or relaxed, outdoors or indoors. I haven't used anything else for over three years. It's never bothered my stomach. It just works.
Been using Skratch for years. Like the product. Well made. But recently, perhaps the last 2 60 serving bags, the zip log mechanism has failed, torn apart, requiring sealing with clip after folding tightly. This product doesn't stand up well if moisture is absorbed. The product will clump, so it's important to have a tight good seal for the bag. I suggest Skratch look into this.
Skratch Labs makes some of the best hydration and nutrition products in the world. However they have the absolute worst zip closures on their pouches. I wish they would rectify this issue as it is such a hinderance.
Skratch Sport Hydration comes in a variety of flavors. Having tried at least four of them I can tell you that they are all great tasting. I have used this hydration mix in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to 100 degrees. It continues to do an efficient job at replacing electrolytes. Originally developed for use by professional cyclists. I would highly recommend Skratch Labs Hydration Sport Drink Mix as a replacement for lost electrolytes.
A leap in the dark, I bought a large bag of the orange and one of the lemon lime; this on the strength of the reviews. As one of those unfortunate souls that cramp up in the legs and feet after even a 25 or 30 mile ride, I've obviously tried most of the formulas out there that promise to obviate the dreaded stabbing pain. 200 miles over 5 rides and (touch wood) the legs are silent. Oh yes, let this be the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship. Thank you Lord, for the alchemists at Skratch Labs.
Florida heat has made it a staple amongst high energy enthusiasts.
Skratch Labs Hydration sports formula is the first mix I genuinely look forward to putting in my bottles. My body generates a good bit of sweat with fairly high salt loss. Other products did not prevent occasional electrolyte loss-related muscle cramping, especially in hot weather. (Won't mention the competition, their products may work fine for you!) Skratch Labs options do a great job replenishing electrolytes, I haven't cramped since. The number of ingredients is limited to what you need, you aren't filling up your body with artificial ingredients. It tastes refreshing, even when the bottles' contents have long since warmed up a bit. I actually look forward to taking a drink, rather than knowing I ought to.
Use for weekend cycling rides. Love the taste, not too sweet, but value more hydration purpose. I believe Skratch has discontinued the 60 serving bag, switching to 30 serving bag and offering same value.
Only con with this product is to keep bag sealed, use within few months because powder tends to clump if moisture sets in, particularly if don't consume bag within few months.
It's a question of paying for specific performance blend vs. saving on off-brand electrolyte mixes from the store. Nice to have for races and important training sessions, especially in the heat. I also like that it has a non-trivial amount of calories, which helps when I struggle to take down concentrated carb mix in the heat. Skratch periodically runs discounts, so my advice is to wait for one and stock up.
Love Skratch hydration mix. Been using it for several years now. Really like this larger size if for no other reason than making it easier to scoop. I found the smaller bags harder to use and always transferred the powder into a container. Not necessary with this new size.
This is my go-to hydration and electrolyte drink mix for all my training sessions and running/triathlon races. My favorite flavor is Fruit Punch. I used to suffer from cramps or upset stomach until I found Skratch. I don't have to worry about putting any color dies into my system since its made from real fruit. Skratch never leaves a nasty aftertaste like so many other sports drinks and is great tasting even after 10 hours on an Iron Man course. I'll even buy the one-serve pouches and carry one with me in case I lose a water bottle on the triathlon course. I also use the Skratch Chews and Skratch Bars pre-race.
I find it to be tasty and easy to digest. I do add half a Nuun tablet for extra electrolytes,
Made for cycling in FL summer heat.
Since I switched from plain water to this stuff I think my endurance has increased and I don't have cramps when I get home.
Note that the proportions given are for a small water bottle. Large ones need 1-1/2 scoops
Generally a fan of the Skratch family of products. Good quality, generally pleasing taste. This is my favorite of the Skratch Hydration flavors.
I use this mix on its own for shorter rides. For super-long and/or high-intensity days I add 1/2 to 1 full scoop of this mix to bottles of very high-carb lemon-lime or strawberry-lime drink mixes that do not contain any electrolyte support. The addition of a little Skratch hydration mix to those bottles improves their flavor and adds some sodium.
Value is 4 stars for full price. But 5 stars when available for 20% off, as is frequently the case.
