love the stiffness & the adjust-ability of the straps on the fly, wish I'd ordered the 47 instead of the 48 for my US13-D (normal width) feet because the wide toebox has meant I'm really cinching the front & middle straps down tight in order to prevent lateral movement. It's comfortable enough, so given that I wore them for a while to figure that out, I won't return/swap the shoes - maybe when I wear these out in 8-10 years, as other folks suggest, I'll get the next size down. ) Pricey but so far I'm pretty happy!
These shoes feel great. They provide comfort and give the stability for pedalling. Initially there was some numbness in my right foot, but as the shoe has loosened up that is no longer an issue.
The quality and durability of Sidi shoes makes them well worth the money.
I have a pair for both mountain and road, and they fit like a glove. My mountain shoes are over 10 years old and still are in great shape!
My last pair of Sidis lasted me almost a decade, I figured time to grab a new pair. I've tried quite a few low to mid-range road shoes and these are hands down the best out there. I love how these shoes expand over time to fit your feet and the super stiff soles. Also, the toe box is fairly wide, which for me prevents foot numbness. I've ridden Giro shoes as well and find the toe box entirely too constricting. The sizing can be a little different for each person (duh), but Sidi suggested I use size 48 for my US 13 feet, but 48 was too big and 47 fit perfectly.
I do not see myself ever spending [$] on shoes and [$] seemed like a lot to me also. I have been riding a pair of Specialized Road Sport for over 2 years and they did not fit bad but just were not great. Decided to buy some Sidi shoes, I wanted a pair just for the name really. Got these on sale and seriously was surprised to say the least. Comfortable and I really like the ratcheting strap, it's not a gimmick. I ride Ultegra carbon pedals and these shoes are a great match up. I had a hard time shelling out the money but should have a lot sooner. I look forward to longevity and I like the fact that there are replacement parts. Small things like the high security Velcro and a good insole to start with are signs of attention to detail. I did not need the longer screws as recommended, the Shimano provided screws worked perfectly.
I finally bought some white Sidi Road Shows due to the fantastic 1-Day Special Pricing. I am the envy of all of my fellow riders.
Sidi's are the best value for me and my large feet-nearly the only ones available in size 49. I might like to try another brand but I can't find one with the fit I need. These are heavier than many other brands but they work fine, are durable and last a long time. The current purchase replaces a pair that were 15 years old and those could probably have been nursed for a couple of more years with some repairs. Other colors would be nice but those were probably sold out in my size before the discount kicked in.
Replaced older pair of Sidis with this upgrade. After a few hundred miles, I'm sure it was a good decision. Comfortable and stiff, but most importantly, I do not ever know that I am wearing them. They are definite high performers.
I had my last pair of Sidi Genius for 9 years. Endurance, performance and quality can be expected from the Sidi Genius.
