Admittedly, I got this jacket on a super closeout deal for almost one third the retail price, so the value is off the charts. Like all Showers Pass clothing, it is exceptionally well made and seems to be based on their Elite jacket.
The fabric is sturdy and should hold up well. On the rides in the rain so far I have stayed dry and warm.
The visibility is amazing and my whole torso glows in the dark when hit with lights.
I was fortunate to just fit the medium size, which was the only one available, and the fit is trim but long enough in the arms and torso.
I expect this to be my commuter jacket for a long time to come.
I have not tried the flashers yet, and with the passive visibility, I don't know that I will.
The jacket appear well made, and testing inside with a flashlight, the jacket really lights up brightly by reflecting light. However the sizing information shown is way off. With a 46" chest and 36" waist, I ordered an XL size, shown as appropriate for 46-48" chest and 34-36" waist. This XL jacket measures 60" across at the armpits and 49" at the waist. There is a waist drawstring but do you really want to look like the Michelin Man while riding? Disappointed in the sizing information provided, no chance to use the jacket, it will be going back.
Well you will not be cold from the weather until you start to sweat. Good if you need a sauna. Probably pretty nice in a rainy chilly urban environment. Too hot for me in mid-50s. Come late spring and summer it will sit until later fall.
First, it is a beautiful jacket - the ultra reflective map print looks amazing in person. Second, although not race-fit, it is cut a bit more slim-fitting than many comparable commuting jackets, but still has enough room for a heavy jersey. Third, the reflectiveness is existential. Cars clearly give me much more room when I wear this, AND the led lights are quite effective as well while still being unobtrusive in the day. Venting is well done. Pockets well done. Waterproofness seems very good. Construction is excellent. I am 5'6 140 lbs wearing a SMALL and the fit is perfect although arms would be too short if I were much taller.
This is perfect for dark winter nights. The reflectivity is incredible. You will be visible to any vehicle that has its lights on.
Great jacket, worn it on an all day ride with intermittent rain. Had it on even when the sun was shining, open vents and cuffs provided plenty of ventilation. No issues with moisture soaking thru. Got lots of comments from others on how reflective the material is after dark.
Worn it while walking the dog in heavy downpours too.
