I wanted a solid wheelset mainly for training/every day rides that didn't cost several figures ($$$$) but also good enough for a race if required. Right out the box wheels looked amazing, definitely more alloy than carbon but carbon layup gives a nice aesthetic touch. Designed for gravel but can easily tick other boxes. I am a heavy guy but they feel strong while sprinting and fast rolling all around. After my disappointment with Mavic Elite Disc, this came to fill the job. Hub is solid with fast engagement and classic Shimano heritage.
There is a lot to like here. I wish they didn't even try to claim to be carbon because they look it, but are not, and the weight is not either. Disc brake wheel sets are heavy and anything you can do to lower that weight is a plus. IT can be done, but you will pay a lot for that. These wheels are a good mid ground with a very decent price.
Replaced the stock Bontrager Tubeless ready wheels on my Trek FXS6 with these carbon clad wheels. They are aero but will take a lot of punishment. They look great. They are also much lighter and feel really good!
