Used as a rear shifter cable for a 105 equipped Canyon carbon Endurance road bike. Original equipment cable frayed after only 5,000 miles. My hope is that this expensive coated cable will last 3 times as long. I should know in about 4 years (or less if it fails). Shifting is fine, but shifting was fine with the stock, uncoated shifter cable before it started to fray.
No other cable shifts as smooth as these polymer coated cables when they're new, however, the coating breaks down long before the cable does, and clogs the housing, thus making shifting troublesome. Instead, opt for the regular SS cable and just inject some lube in the housings before inserting the cable.
Shift cable worked perfectly
Great upgrade with any Shimano brake caliper system. Easy maintenance through 2 full years of 4 season riding.
Extra length. Cable cap included. Works great!
This coated cable makes threading for the cable in the frame easier.
Hands down the best deal and quick shipping.
Shimano cables will never let you down
The shifter reviews say that these cables may be why the Dura Ace shifts so easily. Why take a chance on using something else.
