Despite no quick links, the pin system is easy to use. However, there is an inside and outside to this chain design, which is incredibly dumb, so make sure you look that up before installing it.
I've been using SRAM 850 or 1051 chains on my bikes and I've had no complaints, but this Shimano chain feels so much smoother and quieter. I don't think I'll go back (even though using pins to connect the chain together feels less practical than 'master links'.)
Always use Shimano for the timing chain for a tandem bicycle...so it takes almost two chains to do the job. Always use their pin to connect the two chains and a quick like to finish the loop. Never any problems until it is again time to replace.
